En rponse h la note d'aujourd'hui 6manant<br />

de M. le Baron d'Essen, Ministre Royal de Suede,<br />

le soussign6 a l'honneur de d~clarer que le Gouvernement<br />

allemand, de son ct , accepte<br />

d'ajourner la ddnonciation privue pour le 31<br />

mars de cette ann6e, du Trait6 de Commerce<br />

germano-su~dois du 2 mai 1911. Le Gouvernement<br />

allemand convient de plus que, si aucune<br />

des parties contractantes ne notifie avant le<br />

30 avril 192*o que le Trait6 expirera le 30 juin<br />

192o, le Trait6 restera en vigueur jusqu'b ce<br />

qu une des deux Parties notifie son expiration<br />

avec un preavis de trois mois.<br />

Le soussign6 est d'accord avec M. le Ministre<br />

pour consid~rer les notes d'aujourd'hui<br />

comme constituant une prolongation de l'accord<br />

commercial.<br />

Le soussign6 saisit cette occasion, etc.<br />

Should the German Government agree to<br />

this, the Royal Swedish Government will consider<br />

this extension of the Commercial <strong>Treaty</strong><br />

as settled by the present exchange of notes<br />

between the Foreign Office and the undersigned.<br />

The undersigned avails himself of this opportunity<br />

The Undersigned begs to inform the Royal<br />

Swedish Minister, Baron von Essen, in reply<br />

to his note of today's date, that for its part<br />

the German Government also agrees to the<br />

postponement of the abrogation of the German-<br />

Swedish Commercial <strong>Treaty</strong> of May 2nd 1911<br />

which should have ceased to take effect on<br />

March 31, 1920. The German Government<br />

further agrees that-subject to the condition<br />

that should neither of the High Contracting<br />

Parties, before April 30, 1920, give notice of<br />

expiry on June 30, 1 92O-the <strong>Treaty</strong> shall<br />

remain in force until either of the two Parties<br />

give three months' notice of its expiry.<br />

The Undersigned agrees with His Excellency<br />

the Minister in regarding today's exchange of<br />

notes as constituting the extension of the<br />

Commercial <strong>Treaty</strong>.<br />

The Undersigned avails himself of this<br />
