de lh, une ligne de direction g~n6rale Nord-<br />

Ouest, laissant l'tle de Sylt h l'Allemagne et<br />

l'ile de R~m au Danemark.<br />

La frontinre ci-dessus d~crite sera tracde sur<br />

le terrain par la Commission prvue h l'article<br />

iii du Traitd de Paix avec 1'Allemagne, en<br />

date h Versailles du 28 juin i9i9.<br />

Article 2.<br />

Les territoires vis~s l'alin~a Ier de l'article ier<br />

resteront d6sormais inalienables, si ce n'est<br />

avec l'assentiment du Conseil de la Socit6 des<br />

<strong>Nations</strong>.<br />

Article 3.<br />

Les Principales Puissances allides et associes<br />

se r~servent de pourvoir ult~rieurement par des<br />

stipulations particuli~res, auxquelles l'Allemagne<br />

et le Danemark seront parties, an r~glement<br />

des questions, notanment des questions de<br />

nationalit&s, des questions financires ou 4conomiques,<br />

naissant de l'acquisition par le Danemark<br />

de la souverainet6 sur les territoires<br />

vis~s h l'article er, ainsi qu'il est pr6vu A<br />

l'article 114, alin~a 2, du Traitd de Versailles.<br />

Le pr6sent trait6, r~dig6 en fran~ais et en<br />

anglais, sera ratifi6.<br />

Le dgp6t des ratifications sera effectu6 h<br />

Paris, le plus t6t qu'il sera possible.<br />

Les Puissances, dont le Gouvemement a son<br />

sifge hors d'Europe, auront la facult6 de se<br />

borner h fairg connatre au Gouvernement de<br />

la R~publique franqaise, par leur rcprsentant<br />

diplomatique Paris, que leur ratification a 6t6<br />

400 metres south, of the Wied Au and passing<br />

north of Aventoft ;<br />

thence westwards to the point where the<br />

Kj~rdeich meets Lake Ruttebfill, about 5oo<br />

metres south of Ruttebiill,<br />

the median line of this lake;<br />

thence westwards to the North S,-a at Sieltoft,<br />

a line following the Kj~rdeich, then the<br />

southern boundaries of Ruttebfiller Koog,<br />

Alter Friedrichen Koog and Neuer Friedrichen<br />

Koog;<br />

thence a line in a general north-westerly<br />

direction leaving the Island of Sylt to Germany,<br />

and the Island of R6m to Denmark.<br />

The frontier line described above will be<br />

traced on the spot by the Commission provided<br />

for in Article iii of the <strong>Treaty</strong> of Peace with<br />

Cermany signed at Versailles on June 28,<br />

i919.<br />

Article 2.<br />

The territories referred to i i the first paragraph<br />

of Article i will remain henceforth<br />

inalienable except with the consent of the<br />

Council of the League of <strong>Nations</strong>.<br />

Article 3.<br />

The Principal Allied and Associated Powers<br />

reserve the right to provide subsequently, in<br />

accordance with the second paragraph of<br />

Article 114 of the <strong>Treaty</strong> of Versailles, by<br />

further stipulations to which Germany and<br />

Denmark will be parties, for the settlement of<br />

the questions, particularly those relating to<br />

nationality and financial and economic questions,<br />

arising out of the acquisition by Denmark<br />

of the sovereignty over the territories referred<br />

to in Article i.<br />

The present <strong>Treaty</strong>, in French and English,<br />

shall be ratified.<br />

The deposit of ratifications shall be made at<br />

Paris as soon as possible.<br />

Powers of which the seat of the Government<br />

s outside Europe will be entitled merely to<br />

inform the Government of the French Republic<br />

through their diplomatic representative at<br />

Paris that their ratification has been given;
