<strong>The</strong> following Law, enacted by His Excellency the<br />

Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of<br />

<strong>Cyprus</strong>, is published for general information in a<br />

supplement to this gazette :—<br />

No. f) of 1936.—A Law to appropriate a sum not<br />

exceeding Six Hundred and Seventy-Nine Thousand<br />

Two Hundred and Thirty-One Pounds to the<br />

Service of the Twelve Months ending the Thirty-<br />

No. 250. Executive Council.<br />

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to<br />

make the following appointment:—<br />

Mr. A. B. Wright, C.B.E., M.C, Administrative<br />

Officer (Chief Assistant Secretary), to be a Member<br />

of the Executive Council of the Colony of <strong>Cyprus</strong><br />

whilst acting as Colonial Secretary from 21st March,<br />

Miss Madge Hilda Sizer to be, on probation, a Nursing<br />

Mr. Alistair Foggie, Assistant Conservator of<br />

Forests, 1st Grade, has been selected by the Right<br />

Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies for<br />

appointment as Assistant Conservator of Forests,<br />

Gold Coast. <strong>The</strong> date of the transfer will be notified<br />

No. 254. <strong>The</strong> Secondary Education Laws, 1935<br />

and 1936.<br />

GOVERNING BODY FOR MOSLEM SECONDARY SCHOOLS..<br />

In exercise of the powers vested in him by section<br />

24 of the Secondary Education Law, 1935, His<br />

Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint<br />

the following to be members of the Governing Body<br />

for Moslem Secondary Schools :—<br />

No. 255. Special Authorization under the Village<br />

Authorities Laws, 1981 to (No. 2) 1935.<br />

In exercise of the powers vested in him by the<br />

Village Authorities Laws, 1931 to (No. 2) 1935, His<br />

Excellency the Governor has been pleased to authorize<br />

the following Mukhtar to issue search warrants under<br />

the provisions of section 13A (1) and (2) of the said<br />

Laws :—<br />

No. 256. <strong>The</strong> Rockefeller Foundation.<br />

It is notified for general information that the'<br />

following staff members have been appointed by the<br />

International Health Division of the Rockefeller<br />

Foundation to undertake, in collaboration with the<br />

local Medical Department, a campaign of health work in<br />

<strong>Cyprus</strong>, which in the first instance will be directed<br />

against malaria.<br />

2. Such assistance as lies within their power will be<br />

Municipalities and Village Commissions, are invited to<br />

co-operate similarly with them in their important<br />

undertaking.<br />

3. <strong>The</strong> work undertaken will be in the executive<br />

charge of Dr. Stratman-Thomas, to whom any com-<br />

It is hereby notified for general information that<br />

copies of the Report of the Depaitment of Education<br />

for the school year 1934-35 (26 pp.) are available for<br />

sale to the public at the Government Printing Office,<br />
