Offences.<br />

6. From and after the expiration of four months from the<br />

commencement of this Law, no person sliaU import into<br />

the Colony or shaU use any interfering apparatus unless<br />

the same is fitted with an anti-interference device of a<br />

type or pattern approved by the Postmaster-General<br />

capable of ehminating or reducing to a negligible degree to<br />

the satisfaction of the Postmaster-General the interfering<br />

effect of the interfering apparatus.<br />

7.—(1) Notwithstanding anything in section 5 or 6<br />

contained, the Postmaster-General may, in exceptional<br />

cases where, in his opinion, it would be unreasonable or<br />

undesirable in the pubHc interest to require fuU compHance<br />

with the provisions of the said sections, by permit under his<br />

hand, aUow the instaUation, sale, importation or use of an<br />

interfering apparatus notwithstanding that the same is<br />

not fitted with an anti-interfering device in accordance<br />

with the provisions of the said sections.<br />

(2) Any permit granted under the provisions of subsection<br />

(1) may be canceUed by the Postmaster-General<br />

at any time and may contain such terms and conditions<br />

as to the use of the interfering apparatus as to the<br />

Postmaster-General may seem fit.<br />

8. Any person who contravenes—<br />

(a) any of the provisions of this Law ;<br />

(b) any term or condition contained in any permit<br />

granted by the Postmaster-General under section<br />

7 ; or<br />

(c) any regulations made under the provisions of this<br />

• Law or the terms, conditions or restrictions of any<br />

Hcence granted under the provisions of such<br />

regulations,<br />

shall be guilty of an offence.<br />

Penalty: a fine of fifty pounds.<br />

Regulations. 9. <strong>The</strong> Govcmor in CouncU may make regulations to be<br />

pubHshed in the <strong>Gazette</strong> for aU or any of the foUowing<br />

matters, that is to say,—<br />

(a) the issue of Hcences and the terms, conditions and<br />

restrictions under which and the period for which<br />

Hcences may be granted;<br />

(b) the fees payable for Hcences ;<br />

(c) the renewal and cancellation of Hcences ;<br />

(d) the appointment of persons to act as Broadcasting<br />

Inspectors ;<br />

(e) the means and procedure to be employed to suppress<br />

or reduce interference ; and<br />

(/) generally for the better carrying into effect the<br />

purposes of this Law.<br />

10. <strong>The</strong> Wireless Telegraphy Laws, 1913 to 1934, and<br />

the Regulations and Orders made thereunder are hereby<br />

repealed in so far as they relate to broadcasting, but for<br />

all other purposes shaU remain in full force and effect.<br />
