A LAW FOR THE BETTER PROMOTION OF PUBLIC HEALTH
IN VILLAGES.

lE it enacted by His ExceUency the Governor and
Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Cyprus as
foUows:—
Short titie. 1, XMs Law may be cited as the PubUc Health (ViUages)
Law, 1936.
.plication 2. The provisions of this Law shaU apply to the viUages
^' set out in the Schedule :
Provided that the Govemor may, by Order to be pubUshed
in the Gazette, declare that the Law shaU apply to any other
village, not being a village which has been declared a
Summer Resort under the provisions of the PubUc Health

5. Where any viUages are grouped under the provisions
of section 6, the Village Health Commission for the group
shall consist of the Mukhtar and one Aza to be appointed
by the Commissioner from each Village Commission under
the chairmanship of such Mukhtar as the Commissioner
may appoint.
6. The Commissioner may, by notification to be published
in the Gazette, direct that two or more adjacent villages
shaU be united into a group for aU or any of the purposes
of this Law as may be specified in such notification, and
thereupon the viUages mentioned in such notification shaU
form a group accordingly.
