Governor.<br />

BE it enacted by His Excellency the Officer Administering<br />

the Govemment and Commander-in-Chief of<br />

the Colony of Cjrprus as foUows :—<br />

1. This Law may be cited as the Licensing (Amendment) short title.<br />

Law, 1936, and shall be read as one with the Licensing lo of issd.<br />

Laws, 1889 to 1934, (hereinafter caUed " the Principal 20 of 1926.<br />

Law"), and the Principal Law and this Law may together 30 of 1934.'<br />

be cited as the Licensing Laws, 1889 to 1936.<br />

2. Section 21 of the Principal Law is hereby repealed Repeal of<br />

and the following section substituted therefor:— w"*io^of***<br />

"Hours of 21.—(1) AU premises on which intoxicating substitution<br />

c osmg. liquors are sold by retail shall be closed every °* ^^<br />

night at such hour and shall remain closed<br />

until such hour as the Govemor may by Order<br />

direct.<br />

(2) Ll any Order made under sub-section (1),<br />

the Govemor may authorize the Commissioi;ier<br />

to extend, by special permit under his hand,<br />

the time during which any premises on which<br />

intoxicating liquors are sold by retaU may<br />

remain open on any night specified in such<br />

special permit upon payment of such fee, not<br />

exceeding two shillings for every hour, as may<br />

be prescribed by the Order.<br />

(3) Where a special permit has been granted by<br />

the Commissioner under sub-section (2), notwithstanding<br />

anything in this Law contained it<br />

shaU be lawful for the licensed person during<br />

the currency of his licence to seU on any night<br />

specified in such special permit intoxicating<br />

Uquors by retail on the Ucensed premises during<br />

the extended time specified therein."<br />
