No. 1166. Lai^uage Examinations.
It is hereby notified that, in accordance with the
Notification Xo. 1248, published in the Cypraa CJrazette
No. 2470 of 18th October, 1935, examinations in
Modem Greek or Turkish will l^e held as follows :—
Tuesday, 19th January.—Greek and Turkish
Preliminary (including the Special PreUminary
Examination prescribed for certain ofticers of the
Cyprus Police Force).
Wednesday, 2(Jth January.—Greek and Turkish
Ordinary (includingthe Special Ordinary Examination
i)i(;scribed for certain officers of the
Agricultural and Forest Departments).
Friday, 22rid January.—Greek and Turkish Honours
(including Modified Honours).
2. The e.xaminations are open only to British
Government Officials. A fee of 'os. must be sent with
every application, except in the case of officers applying
for permission to sit for an examination which they
are required to pass by the terms of their appointment.
3. The examinations will begin at 9 a.m. each day
at the Education Office.
4. Applications to attend any of these examinations
should be sent to the Director of Education through
tbe Head of the candidate's Department not later than
9th January, 1937, stating exactly which examination
the candidate wishes to take.

REGULATIONS.
His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
approve the following Regulations made by the Board
of Management of the Kyrenia Hospital.

REGULATIONS MADE BY THE BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
OF THE KYRENIA HOSPITAL.
The Board of Management of the Kyrenia Hospital
hereby make the following Regulations :—
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Kyrenia
Hospital (Amendment No. 2) Regulations, 1936,
and shall be read as one with the Kyrenia Hospital
Regulations, 1930 to 1936, (hereinafter called
" the Principal Regulations "), and the Principal
Regulations and these Regulations may together be
cited as the Kyrenia Hospital Regulations, 1930 to
(No. 2) 1936.
2. The following Regulation shall be substituted
for Regulation 15 of the Principal Regulations :—

" 15.—(1) Patients who are not in possession of
any certificate as in Regulation 13 hereof pro ided,
may be admitted to a general ward when
accommodation is available on payment of from
1«. to 3.S. per diem according to their means at
the discretion of the Board.
(2) The charge for admission to a first class
private ward shall be at the rate of IOs. per diem :
Provided that in special cases a patient may, with
the approval of the Board be admitted to a tirst
class private ward on payment at a rate less than
10.sr. but not less than 5.s. per diem.
(3) The charge for admission to a second class
private ward shall be at the rate of 4.s. per diem :
Provided that the charge for any patient who is
permitted to reserve for himself the exclusive nse of
a second class private ward, shall be at the rate
of 6«. per diem.
(4) In the case of operations, a theatre fee shall
be paid by patients who are in a position to pay.
Such fee shall be not less than o.s-. and not more
than 40.?. at the discretion of the Board."

The attention of the public is invited to the
Notification made on the 10th October, 1936, by
His Excellency the Governor pursuant to the
Quarantine Law, 1932, and published in the Cyprus
Gazette of the 16th October, 1936, whereby it was
declared that the following local areas were infected
local areas and that all passengers and goods therefrom
would be subject to the measures prescribed by the
Quarantine Regulations, 1932, with respect to the
dangerous infectious diseases set forth against each
local area :—
