No. 1166. Lai^uage Examinations.<br />

It is hereby notified that, in accordance with the<br />

Notification Xo. 1248, published in the Cypraa CJrazette<br />

No. 2470 of 18th October, 1935, examinations in<br />

Modem Greek or Turkish will l^e held as follows :—<br />

Tuesday, 19th January.—Greek and Turkish<br />

Preliminary (including the Special PreUminary<br />

Examination prescribed for certain ofticers of the<br />

<strong>Cyprus</strong> Police Force).<br />

Wednesday, 2(Jth January.—Greek and Turkish<br />

Ordinary (includingthe Special Ordinary Examination<br />

i)i(;scribed for certain officers of the<br />

Agricultural and Forest Departments).<br />

Friday, 22rid January.—Greek and Turkish Honours<br />

(including Modified Honours).<br />

2. <strong>The</strong> e.xaminations are open only to British<br />

Government Officials. A fee of 'os. must be sent with<br />

every application, except in the case of officers applying<br />

for permission to sit for an examination which they<br />

are required to pass by the terms of their appointment.<br />

3. <strong>The</strong> examinations will begin at 9 a.m. each day<br />

at the Education Office.<br />

4. Applications to attend any of these examinations<br />

should be sent to the Director of Education through<br />

tbe Head of the candidate's Department not later than<br />

9th January, 1937, stating exactly which examination<br />

the candidate wishes to take.<br />

No. 1167. Kyrenia Hospital.<br />

REGULATIONS.<br />

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to<br />

approve the following Regulations made by the Board<br />

of Management of the Kyrenia Hospital.<br />

(M.P. 1963/99.)<br />

REGULATIONS MADE BY THE BOARD OF MANAGEMENT<br />

OF THE KYRENIA HOSPITAL.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Board of Management of the Kyrenia Hospital<br />

hereby make the following Regulations :—<br />

1. <strong>The</strong>se Regulations may be cited as the Kyrenia<br />

Hospital (Amendment No. 2) Regulations, 1936,<br />

and shall be read as one with the Kyrenia Hospital<br />

Regulations, 1930 to 1936, (hereinafter called<br />

" the Principal Regulations "), and the Principal<br />

Regulations and these Regulations may together be<br />

cited as the Kyrenia Hospital Regulations, 1930 to<br />

(No. 2) 1936.<br />

2. <strong>The</strong> following Regulation shall be substituted<br />

for Regulation 15 of the Principal Regulations :—<br />

" 15.—(1) Patients who are not in possession of<br />

any certificate as in Regulation 13 hereof pro ided,<br />

may be admitted to a general ward when<br />

accommodation is available on payment of from<br />

1«. to 3.S. per diem according to their means at<br />

the discretion of the Board.<br />

(2) <strong>The</strong> charge for admission to a first class<br />

private ward shall be at the rate of IOs. per diem :<br />

Provided that in special cases a patient may, with<br />

the approval of the Board be admitted to a tirst<br />

class private ward on payment at a rate less than<br />

10.sr. but not less than 5.s. per diem.<br />

(3) <strong>The</strong> charge for admission to a second class<br />

private ward shall be at the rate of 4.s. per diem :<br />

Provided that the charge for any patient who is<br />

permitted to reserve for himself the exclusive nse of<br />

a second class private ward, shall be at the rate<br />

of 6«. per diem.<br />

(4) In the case of operations, a theatre fee shall<br />

be paid by patients who are in a position to pay.<br />

Such fee shall be not less than o.s-. and not more<br />

than 40.?. at the discretion of the Board."<br />

No. 1168. Quarantine Restrictions.<br />

<strong>The</strong> attention of the public is invited to the<br />

Notification made on the 10th October, 1936, by<br />

His Excellency the Governor pursuant to the<br />

Quarantine Law, 1932, and published in the <strong>Cyprus</strong><br />

<strong>Gazette</strong> of the 16th October, 1936, whereby it was<br />

declared that the following local areas were infected<br />

local areas and that all passengers and goods therefrom<br />

would be subject to the measures prescribed by the<br />

Quarantine Regulations, 1932, with respect to the<br />

dangerous infectious diseases set forth against each<br />
