No. 757. Certificates of Honour.
It is notified for general information that
His Majesty the King has approved of the extension
to Cyprus of the scheme of the award of Certificates
of Honour under the rules which are appended
below.
CYPBITS.
Rides governing the award of Certificates of Honour.
His Majesty the King has been pleased to
approve the award lender the foUowing rules of
Certificates of Honour to Mukhtars or other
niembers of the Cyprus District Administrations,
not being Govemmeni Servants or Municipal
Officers, who have rendered or may hereafter
render to the Govemment loyal and valuable
pervice in prominent and responsible positions.
1. The Certificate shall bear His Majesty's
portrait, together vrith the name of the recipient
and a brief accoimt of the services which it
commemorates, and shall be signed by the
Governor or other officer for the time being
administering the Govemment.

2. The Certificate shaU be awarded by the
Governor or Officer Admimstering the Grovernment
and aU awards of the Certificate shall be
reported to the Secretary of State for the Colonies.
3. The Certificate shaU carry with it the right
to wear a badge which wUl be wom at the neck
pendent from a ribbon. The badge shall be
of silver-gilt and shaU bear on the obverse His
Majesty's effigy and on the reverse the badge
of the Colony. The ribbon shall be of yeUow
watered silk.
4. The names of the recipients of the Certificate
shaU be pubUshed in the Official Gazette.
5. If any person to whom the Certificate has
been awarded shaU be guilty of misconduct or
of disloyalty to the Government, he maybe
deprived of it by the Governor or the Offieer
Administering the Govemment, who shall have
power also to restore it to him.
6. Upon the death of any recipient of the
Certificate the badge shaU forthwith be retm"ned
to the Governor, unless he shall in any instance
deem otherwise expedient, but in no case shall
the badge be worn by any other than the person
to whom the Certificate was awarded.

In exercise of the powers vested in the Governor by the Cyprus Pensions Order in Council, 1929, and otherwise.
His Excellency the Acting Governor, with the sanction of the Secretary of State, is pleased to declare the offices
set forth in the schedule hereto to be pensionable offices ; and to declare all offices at any time hitherto declared
pensionable other than the said offices set forth in the said schedule to be no longer pensionable, due regard being
had to existing rights.
