In exercise of the powers vested in him by the<br />

Mumcipal Corporations Laws, 1930 and 1934,<br />

His Exeellency the Governor, ^^it]l the advice of<br />

the Executive Council, has been pleased to order<br />

and it is hereby ordered as folloA\ s :—<br />

1. <strong>The</strong> Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillors<br />

and Townsmen of Lapithos (hereinafter called<br />

" the Municipal Corporation '"). shall be at<br />

liberty to borrow from Mr. Dimosthenis Severis,<br />

of Nicosia (hereinafter called " the Lender "),<br />

the sum of one hundred and sixty pounds<br />

(£160) at a rate of interest not exceeding seven<br />

per centum (7%) per annum subject to the<br />

following terms and conditions, that is to say,—<br />

(a) That the sum borrowed shall be repayable<br />

by the Municipal Corporation to the<br />

Lender in ten (10) equal annual instalments<br />

(comprising sinking fund and<br />

interest).<br />

(6) That the Municipal Corporation shall, in<br />

each year and until final repayment of<br />

the sum borrowed, insert in the aimual<br />

estimates as a charge on the revenues<br />

the annual instalment repayable in the<br />

year to which such estimates relate.<br />

(c) That the sum borrowed shall be utihzed<br />

by the Municipal Corporation for the<br />

erection of a slaughter-house.<br />

2. For securing the repayment of the sum<br />

borrowed the Mimicipal Corporation be and is<br />

hereby authorized to mortgage to the Lender<br />

the slaughter-house fees now payable or hereafter<br />

to become payable to the Municipal<br />

Corporation.<br />

Ordered in Council, this 4th day of December,<br />

THE PUBLIC RIMERS PROTECTION<br />

LAW, 1930.<br />

In exercise of the powers vested in him by the<br />

PubUc Rivers Protection Law. 1930, His Excellency<br />

tbe Governor, with the advice of the Executive<br />

Council, has been pleased to order and it is hereby<br />

ordered as follo\\'s :—<br />

1. This Order may be cited as tbe Pedias<br />

River (Protection) Order. 1936, and shall be<br />

read together ^ith the Pedias River (Protection)<br />

Order, 1935.<br />

2. <strong>The</strong> portion of the pubhc river Pedias, in<br />

the District of Xicosia, beginning at the ford<br />

adjoining the Xicosia Tannery (plot Xo. 250,<br />

plan Xo. XXI 38), where the river is crossed<br />

by the road lying to the south of the Nicosia<br />

Golf Course, northwards for a distance of<br />

1,860 feet approximately and ending at a line<br />

which is a straight line continuation of the<br />

northern bomidary of plot No. 285 of the same<br />

plan to tbe right bank ofthe said river, as shown<br />

coloured red on the plan dated 5th October,<br />

1936, filed in M.P. Xo. 244 28 in the office of<br />

the Commissioner, Nicosia, is hereby declared<br />

to be a river for the purposes of the Public<br />

Rivers Protection Law, 1930.<br />

Ordered in Council, this 4th day of December,<br />
