THE BURIALS LAW, 1896.
Governor.
Whereas in pursuance of Notification No. 997,
published m the Cyprus Gazette of the 21st September,
1934, a fit and proper site has been registered in the
books of the Land Registry Office as a burial-ground
for the burial of the dead by the Christian Community
of the village of Ayii Vavatsinias, in the District of
Larnaca :
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested in
him by section 14 of the Burials Law, 1S96, His
Excellency the Governor has been pleased to order
and hereby orders that, from and after the 15th day of
March, 1936, no burial shall take place in the
burial-ground in lieu whereof the new burial-ground
above referred to has been provided.
Made at Nicosia, this 27th day of February, 1936.

THE TREE PLANTING VILLAGE AREAS
LAWS, 1930 TO 1936.

Whereas at a meeting duly convened and held
at the village of Pakhna, in the District of Limassol,
on the 6th day of October, 1935, it was determined
by the voters present thereat that a certain area
should be reserved as the Tree Planting Area of
the village of Pakhna :
And whereas at the said meeting the boundaries
of the said area have been fixed and described :
And whereas the Mukhtars of the village of
Pakhna have forwarded to the Commissioner of
the District of Limassol a report, signed and
sealed by them, containing a description with
boundaries of the said area and stating that the
said area fulfils the conditions in section 10 (4)
of the Tree Planting Village Areas Laws, 1930
and 1935, prescribed:
And whereas the said Commissioner has transmitted
the said report, together with his recommendations,
to the Colonial Secretary for the
consideration of the Govemor :
And whereas the Govemor considers it expedient,
having regard to all the circumstances, that the
area in the said report described should be reserved
as the Tree Planting Area of the village of Pakhna.
Now, therefore. His Excellency the Govemor,
in exercise of the powers vested in him by the
Tree Planting Village Areas Laws, 1930 to 1936,
is pleased to order and it is hereby ordered as
follows :—
The area described in the Schedule bereto
is hereby declared to be and shall be reserved
as the Tree Planting Area of the village of
Pakhna in the District of Limas>;oI.

road from the village of Vouni to the village
of Pakhna ; thence north-eastwards along thi.*^
road to the boundary of the village of Pakhna
at the most northem point of plot No. 560 of
the same plan, locality " Megha Vouni";
thence southwards and eastwards along this
village boundary to the stream at the southeastem
comer of plot No. 198, plan No. LIII/9,

1899 AND 1928.

NOTIFICATION.
Governor.
Whereas it has been represented to me that
it is desirable in the interest of the public to provide
buildings and playing fields for the use of the
English School, Nicosia :
Now, therefore, I, Herbert Richmond Palmer,
Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Commander of the Most Excellent Order of th(^
British Empire, Govemor and Commander-in-Chief
in and over the Colony of Cypru-s, by virtue of
the powers vested in me by the Land Acquisition
Laws, 1899 and 1928, do hereby declare the
provision of buildings and playing fields as aforesaid
to be an undertaking of pubhc utility and do hereb>^
authorize the carrying out of the said undertaking
and do hereby entrust to the Director of Education
the supervision and effectuation of the Kaid
undertaking.
