THE SECONDARY EDUCATION LAW, 1935, AND THE SECONDARY EDUCATION (AMENDMENT) LAW, 1936.
In exercise of the powers vested in him by the Secondary Education Law, 1935, and the Secondary
Education (Amendment) Law, 1936, His Excellency the Governor is pleased to order and it is hereby ordered
that the said Laws shall come into operation on the 6th day of March, 1936.

In exercise of the powers vested in him by the
Secondary Education Laws, 1935 and 1936,
His Excellency the Govemor, with the advice
of the Executive Council, has been pleased to
make and hereby makes the following
Regulations :—
1. These Regulations may be cited as the
Secondary Education Regulations, 1936.
2. The goveming body of every secondary
school shall appoint a person to act as correspondent
on its behalf in aU correspondence with the
Director, and shall forthwith notify the Director
ofthe name and address ofthe person so appointed.
3. The Register of Secopdary Schools shall be
in the form set out in the First Schedule.
4. AppUcation for the registration of a
secondary school shall be made by the goveming
body to the Director in the form set out in the
Second Schedule.
5. The return required to be made under section
9 of the Law shall be rendered by the goveming
body to the Director in the form set out in the
Third Schedule.
6. The certificate of registration of a secondary
school shall be in the form set out in the Fourth
Schedule.

THE SECONDARY EDUCATION LAWS, 1935 AND 1936.
7. The Register of Secondary School Teacher*
shall be in the form set out in the Fifth Schedule.
8. Every person wishing to be registered or
licensed as a teacher shall make application in
writing through the Commissioner of the District
in which he resides to the Director in the form
set out in the Sixth Schedule.
9. The licence issued to every person registered
as a teacher shall be in the form set out in the
Seventh Schedule.
10. The provisional licence issued to every
person licensed under the provisions of section
20 (3) of the Law shall be in the form set out in
the Eighth Schedule.
11.—(1) The goveming body of any secondary
school to which section 23 or 24 of the Law appliea
may make regulations relating to all or any of the
following matters, that is to say,—
(a) the admission, attendance, classification
and examination of pupils ;
(b) the discipline to be enforced upon pupils
both inside and outside the school;
(c) the organization and management of the
boarding-house or hostel, if any, attached
to the school;
(d) the pimishment and expulsion of pupils ;
(e) the health, cleanliness and medical
inspection of pupils ;
