THE SECONDARY EDUCATION LAW, 1935, AND THE SECONDARY EDUCATION (AMENDMENT) LAW, 1936.<br />

In exercise of the powers vested in him by the Secondary Education Law, 1935, and the Secondary<br />

Education (Amendment) Law, 1936, His Excellency the Governor is pleased to order and it is hereby ordered<br />

that the said Laws shall come into operation on the 6th day of March, 1936.<br />

Govemor.<br />

In exercise of the powers vested in him by the<br />

Secondary Education Laws, 1935 and 1936,<br />

His Excellency the Govemor, with the advice<br />

of the Executive Council, has been pleased to<br />

make and hereby makes the following<br />

Regulations :—<br />

1. <strong>The</strong>se Regulations may be cited as the<br />

Secondary Education Regulations, 1936.<br />

2. <strong>The</strong> goveming body of every secondary<br />

school shall appoint a person to act as correspondent<br />

on its behalf in aU correspondence with the<br />

Director, and shall forthwith notify the Director<br />

ofthe name and address ofthe person so appointed.<br />

3. <strong>The</strong> Register of Secopdary Schools shall be<br />

in the form set out in the First Schedule.<br />

4. AppUcation for the registration of a<br />

secondary school shall be made by the goveming<br />

body to the Director in the form set out in the<br />

Second Schedule.<br />

5. <strong>The</strong> return required to be made under section<br />

9 of the Law shall be rendered by the goveming<br />

body to the Director in the form set out in the<br />

Third Schedule.<br />

6. <strong>The</strong> certificate of registration of a secondary<br />

school shall be in the form set out in the Fourth<br />

Schedule.<br />

MADE UNDEB<br />

THE SECONDARY EDUCATION LAWS, 1935 AND 1936.<br />

7. <strong>The</strong> Register of Secondary School Teacher*<br />

shall be in the form set out in the Fifth Schedule.<br />

8. Every person wishing to be registered or<br />

licensed as a teacher shall make application in<br />

writing through the Commissioner of the District<br />

in which he resides to the Director in the form<br />

set out in the Sixth Schedule.<br />

9. <strong>The</strong> licence issued to every person registered<br />

as a teacher shall be in the form set out in the<br />

Seventh Schedule.<br />

10. <strong>The</strong> provisional licence issued to every<br />

person licensed under the provisions of section<br />

20 (3) of the Law shall be in the form set out in<br />

the Eighth Schedule.<br />

11.—(1) <strong>The</strong> goveming body of any secondary<br />

school to which section 23 or 24 of the Law appliea<br />

may make regulations relating to all or any of the<br />

following matters, that is to say,—<br />

(a) the admission, attendance, classification<br />

and examination of pupils ;<br />

(b) the discipline to be enforced upon pupils<br />

both inside and outside the school;<br />

(c) the organization and management of the<br />

boarding-house or hostel, if any, attached<br />

to the school;<br />

(d) the pimishment and expulsion of pupils ;<br />

(e) the health, cleanliness and medical<br />

inspection of pupils ;<br />
