THE TREE PLANTING VILLAGE AREAS<br />

LAWS, 1930 TO 1936.<br />

Govemor.<br />

Whereas by an Order of the Govemor, dated<br />

the 15th day of November, 1933, and published<br />

under Notification No. 1087 in the <strong>Gazette</strong> of the<br />

17th November, 1933, (hereinafter called " the<br />

Principal Order "), an area in the Schedule thereto<br />

•described has been reserved as the Tree Planting<br />

Area of the village of Pelendria, in the District of<br />

Limassol.<br />

And whereas under the provisions of the Tree<br />

Planting Village Areas Laws, 1930 to 1936,<br />

the Principal Order remains in force for a period<br />

•of ten years commencing on the 17th day of<br />

Deoember, 1933, and end^ on the 16th day of<br />

December, 1943, unless the Govemor, on good<br />

cause shown, abridges the said period often years:<br />

And whereas good cause has been showTi to the<br />

satisfaction of the Governor that the said period of<br />

ten years should be abridged :<br />

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers<br />

vested in him by the Tree Planting Village Areaa<br />

Laws, 1930 to 1936, His Excellency the Governor<br />

is pleased to order and it is hereby ordered as<br />

foUows :—<br />

<strong>The</strong> period during which the Principal Order<br />

shaU remain in force shall be and is herebj<br />

abridged to the 30th day of June, 1936.<br />

AVhereas it has been represented to me that it ig<br />

desirable in the interest of the public to straighten<br />

and improve the public road between Nicosia and<br />

Kyrenia.<br />

ls^)\v, therefore, I, Herbert Richmond Palmer,<br />

Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order<br />

of Saint Michael and Saint George, Commander of<br />

the ]\Iost Excellent Order of the British Empire,<br />

Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the<br />

Colony of <strong>Cyprus</strong>, by virtue of the powers vested in<br />

me by the Land Acquisition Laws, 1899 and 1928,do<br />

hereby declare the straightening and improvement of<br />

the pnblic road aforesaid to be an undertaking of<br />

public utility and do hereby authorize the carrying<br />

out of the said undertaking and do hereby entrust to<br />

the Diiector of Public Works the supervision and<br />

effectuation of the said undertaking.<br />

Given, under my hand and seal this 25th day<br />

the Colonies has intimated that His Majesty will<br />

not be advised to exercise his power of disallowance<br />
