THE TROODOS PUBLIC HEALTH LAWS, 1920 AND 1930,
His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
approve of the following Regulations made by the
iS*o6dos Public Health Board.

REGULATIONS MADE BY THE TBOODOS PUBLIC
HEALTH BOARD,
In exercise of the powers vested in them by the
Troodos PubUc Health Laws, 1920 and 1930, the
Troodos PubUc Health Board hereby make the
following Regulations :—
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Troodos
Public Health (Amendment) Regulations, 1936,
and shaU be read as one with the Troodos PubUc
Health Regulations 1931 to 1935,* (hereinafter
caUed " the Principal Regidations"), and the
Principal Regulations and these Regulations may
together be cited as the Troodos PubUc Health
Regulations, 1931 to 1936.
2. The following regulation shall be substituted
for regulation 26 ofthe Principal Regulations :—
" 26.—(1) AU buUdings, hotels, camps, tents,
coffee-shops, confectionery or pastry-shops,
grocery-shops, cook-houses, eating-houses, bars,
bakeries, khans, mandras, pig-styes, poultrypens
or stables within the sanitary area, and aU
articles, things or materials used therein shaU be
kept by the owner, occupier or lessee thereof in a
clean and sanitary condition to the satisfaction
of the Medical Officer.
(2) The Medical Officer if satisfied that any
ofthe premises in paragraph (1) hereof mentioned
is not kept in a clean and sanitary condition
may serve a written notice on the owner,
occupier or lessee of such premises in the form
prescribed in the First Schedule hereto specifying
the work that is to be carried out in order to
bring such premises to a clean and sanitary
condition and specifying the period (not being less
than twenty-four hours) within which the work
to be completed.
(3) The Medical Officer if satisfied that aU or
any of his instructions as specified in the notice
have not been carried out may order the closing
of the premises and such premises shall thereupon
remain closed untU the instructions specified in
the notice are carried out to his satisfaction. "
3. Regulation 39 of the Principal Regulations
M hereby amended as foUows :—
(a) By the deletion of paragraph (1) (a) and
the substitution therefor of the following
paragraph :—
" (a) Barbers, per annum or part thereof
from IOs. to £3."
(6) By the insertion in paragraph (1) (6)
immediately after the words " medical
practitioners " ofthe words " other than the
Medical Officer and the Medical Officer in
charge of the troops '*.
(c) By the deletion in paragraph (1) (j) of the
figure " 10«." and the substitution therefor
of the figure " 5s.".

(d) By the deletion of paragraph (3) and the
substitution therefor of the foUowing
paragraph :—
" (3) Every hotel-keeper shaU pay in
addition to the fee in paragraph (1) (e)
of this regulation prescribed, a fee of not less
than Sep. or more than 4|cp., as the Board
may direct, in respect of every visitor of over
ten years of age sta3ang at his hotel."
4. The foUowing regulation shaU be substituted
for regulation 44 of the Principal Regulations :—
" 44.—(1) No person shaU, within the sanitary
area, be employed in any hotel, camp,
restaurant, bar, coffee-shop, slaughter-house,
bakery or in any place in which food or
drink is prepared or served or is sold or
exposed for sale unless such person obtains
from the Medical Officer or any other
Government Medical Officer a Health
Certificate vaUd until the thirty-first
December next following the date of issue
in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule
hereto.
(2) No Health Certificate shaU be granted to
any person who is suffering from any
contagious or infectious disease or who has
an open exposed cut, abrasion or sore on
his person or who appears to the Officer to
whom appUcation i& made not to maintain
habits of personal cleanliness. For the
purpose of ascertaining whether a Health
Certfficate may properly be granted to any
person, the Officer to whom appUcation is
made may require such person to be
medicaUy examined.
(3) Any Health Certificate granted under
paragraph (1) hereof may be canceUed at
any time or suspended for such time as to
the Medical Officer may seem fit if the
holder is found by the Medical Officer to
suffer from a contagious or infectious
disease or has an exposed cut, abrasion or
sore on his person or if it appears to the
Medical Officer that he does not maintain
habits of personal cleanliness.
(4) A person to whom a Health Certificate
imder paragraph (1) hereof is granted shaU
upon the demand of any member of the
Board or of the Medical Officer, produce
for inspection such certificate to any such
member or to the Medical Officer."
6. The following regulation shaU be inserted in
the Principal Regulations immediately after
regulation 44 thereof:—
" 44A.—(1) The owner or manager of any
hotel, camp, restaurant, bar, coflfee-shop,
slaughter-house, bakery or any place in which
food or drink is prepared or served or is sold
or exposed for sale within the sanitary area shall,
at the beginning of the Summer Season in each
year, fumish the Board with a Ust of all persons
employed by him in any of the estabUshments
above mentioned.
(2) The owner or manager of any of the
estabUshments in paragraph (1) hereof mentioned
shall at once notify the Board of any change
occurring during the summer season in any Ust
suppUed by him under the provisions of
paragraph (1) of this regulation."
