BE it enacted by His ExceUency the Govemor and
Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Cyprus as
foUows:—
1. This Law may be cited as the Cyprus Criminal Code short title.
(Amendment) Law, 1936, and shaU be read as one with
the Cyprus Criminal Code, 1928 to (No. 2) 1933, (herein- The Cyprus
after caUed *'the Criminal Code") and the Criminal Code ^'l^"^
and this Law may together be cited as the Cyprus in (5>uncfl'
Criminal Code, 1928 to 1936. ' i928.

2. Section 197 of the Criminal Code is hereby amended AmendmOTit
by the insertion immediately after the word "proving" of^?**''^^^
(line 2) of the words " ^^ hether expressly or by Criminal
impUcation". ^'^^^•
3. Section 198 of the Criminal Code is herebv repealed. Repeal of

Objects and Reasons.
The object of this Law is to bring the Criminal Code
into line with the EngUsh law on the subject of murder
as laid down in the recent case of Woolmington v. Director
of Public Prosecutions.
