A LAW TO AMEND THE LAW RELATING TO THE REGULATION
OF THE PRACTICE OF MIDWIFERY.

BE it enacted by His Excellency the Ofiicer Administering
the Govemment and Commander-in-Chief of
the Colony of Cyprus as foUows :—
1. This Law may be cited as the Midwifery (Amendment) short title.
Law, 1936, and shall be read as one with the Midwifery
Law, 1932, (hereinafter caUed "the Principal Law"), i4of 1932.
and the Principal Law and this Law may together be cited
as the Midwifery Laws, 1932 and 1936.
2. Section 2 of the Principal Law is hereby amended Amendment
by the deletion of the definition " Medical Assessors" °J Law°u^
and the substitution therefor of the foUowing definition :— of 1932.
" Medical Council" means the Medical CoimcU
constituted under the Medical Registration Law, 1936. 22 of 1936.
3. Section 7 of the Principal Law is hereby amended Amendment
as foUows:— of section T
of Law 14
(i) By the addition immediately after paragraph (c) ^^i^^^.
of the foUowing paragraph:—
" (d) the canceUation by the Registrar under the
provisions of section 12 of this Law of any
certificate of registration or of a special Ucence
and the removal of her name by him from the
register or from the Ust kept under the provisions
of section 6 of this Law."
(U) By the deletion of the words " Board of
Assessors " and by the substitution therefor of the
words " Medical CouncU."
4. Section 12 of the Principal Law is hereby amended Amendment

(i) By the deletion of the words " the Govemor °^ ^®^^through
" (lines 2 and 3).
(u) By the deletion of the word " Govemor " (line 7)
and by the substitution therefor of the word
" Registrar."
5. The Principal Law is hereby amended by the insertion New section

this Law, on the ground that she was unfit to
perform the functions of a midwife by reason of
physical disabiUty or infirmity, may apply to
the Registrar for the replacement of her name
in the register or such Ust and the Registrar,
if satisfied that the appUcant has fuUy
recovered from the physical disabiUty or infirmity
in respect of which her name was removed
