ORDER IN COUNCIL. -No. 1674.
MADE UNDER
THE QUARANTINE LAW, 1932.

In exercise of the powers vested in him by the
Quarantine Law, 1932, His Excellency the
Governor, with the advice of the Executive
Council, has been pleased to make and hereby
makes the following regulations :—
1. These Regulations may be cited as the
Quarantine (Amendment) Regulations, 1936, and
shall be read as one wdth the Quarantine
Regulations, 1932 to 1934, (hereinafter called
" the Principal Regulations "), and the Principal
Regulations and these Regulations may together
be cited as the Quarantine Regulations, 1932
to 1936.
2. The Principal Regulations are hereby
amended by the insertion immediately after
Regulation 19 of the following heading and
regulation :—
" DENGUE.
FRIDAY, 17TH JANUARY, 1936. 4i
19A. Vessels coming from a port in which
there is an epidemic of DengUv.. Fever shall be
subjected to the following measures :—
(a) Boarding.—The doctor, or failing him the
captain, shall give a reply to the question :
' Are there, or have there been, on board
any persons suffering from dengue fever ?'
(b) Medical Inspection.—Patients who have
developed dengye fever within less than
five days and desire to leave the ship shall
be landed by day and shall be isolated on
land, in accordance with the instructions
of the Port Health Officer, under
conditions which shelter them from
mosquito bites, until a period of five days
has elapsed sinee the illness began.
(c) Inspection of the ship in order to
ascertain that there are no stegomyia on
board, taking into account any measures
already taken on the voyage. If any
stegomjaa are found on board the Port
Health Officer may have the mosquitoes
destroyed.
(d) In exceptiorial cases, the Port Health
Officer may, if he considers that
circumstances render it necessary, place
under surveillance those passengers who
have disembarked and confine the crew
on board except for purpose of duty, until
a period of eight daj^s has elapsed since
they were exposed to infection."

THE TREE PLANTING VILLAGE AREAS-
LAWS, 1930 AND 1935.

Governor.
Whereas at a meeting duly convened and held
at the village of Yerasa, in the District of Limassol,.
on the Sth day of May, 1935, it was determined
by the voters present thereat that a certain area
should be reserved as the Tree Planting Area of
the village of Yerasa :
And whereas at the said meeting the boundaries
of the said area have been fixed and described :
And whereas the Mukhtar of the village of
Yerasa has forw^arded to the Commissioner of
the District of Limassol a report, signed and sealed
by him, containing a description with boundaries
of the said area and stating that the said area
fulfils the conditions in section 10 (4) of the Tree
Planting Village Areas Law, 1930, prescribed :
And whereas the said Commissioner has transmitted
the said report, together with his recommendations,
to the Colonial Secretary for the
consideration of the Governor :
And whereas the Governor considers it expedient,
having regard to all the circumstances, that the
area in the said report described should be reserved
as the Tree Planting Area of the village of Yerasa.
