Number (AUN) assigned by the<br />
Pennsylvania Department of Education<br />
A unique identifier for each staff member.<br />
• Use the 7-digit Professional Personnel<br />
ID (PPID) for all certificated staff and<br />
for non-certificated staff who have a<br />
PPID.<br />
• Use the 9-digit Social Security Number<br />
(SSN) without dashes for noncertificated<br />
staff who do not have a<br />
PPID.<br />
• Use the 5-digit Municipal Police Officer<br />
Training ID (MPTID) for school security<br />
staff preceded by SS. If the school<br />
security staff does not have a MPTID,<br />
the LEA must assign the individual a<br />
unique and consistent 4-digit ID<br />
preceded by SS.<br />
Do not use leading zeros or<br />
spaces in PPIDs.<br />
All IDs for school security staff<br />
should be prefixed with “SS” so<br />
that they do not conflict with<br />
other staff IDs. See Sample /<br />
