Chapter 16 – Lofting 185
<strong>The</strong> only other area where there might be some confusion
in subtracting planking thickness is in the last
station aft, where there is not another station with
which to average the angle. For planking thickness
subtraction, the one angle will be close enough. If you
want to bevel the last station from the lofting, you will
have to allow for a few degrees because the planking
will be curving as it comes into that station.
This completes the basic lofting. You should now have
the exact shapes of the desired stations from which you
can cut the mold frames, permanent frames, bulkheads,
transom, and other manufactured parts.
