SKILLNET: Continuous training in Social Skills for Adults<br />

The students in training courses aiming at getting a job are lacking in basic and instrumental skills. Basic skills are<br />

acquired in formal education through subject matters like maths, native language, sciences, etc… Social skills are<br />

acquired informally, they are not included in a formal curriculum, though they are important to get a job, and when the<br />

candidates are deficient in this area, they are bound to be excluded professionally and socially.<br />

We intend to analyse the social skills required in social and professional relationships, so that we can determine the<br />

concrete training needs of the users of Continuous Training Courses for Adults. Then this experience can be transferred<br />

to trainers, parents, teachers, etc.. Our partnership will try to create training modules in social skills that could be of<br />

general use.<br />
