Bridging the cultural divide
The aim of the project will be to gain a more in depth understanding of our partners in Europe by breaking down barriers
through heritage, culture and traditions. The project will take specific measures to promote intercultural education. It will
involve learners in the investigating of historical influences that have occurred. The methodologies used will incorporate
information technology and the teaching of presentation skills. Learners in the host country will give a presentation on
their area and the historical influences that have shaped it. The learning will be further enhanced through learner
exchanges (the main thrust of the project). Learners will visit partner countries and will identify the historical similarities
that have shaped the development of Europe. This will highlight that there are many common influences and that the
common cultural heritage is a tool to better understand how we can all co-exist and improve relationships between
countries.
