TRA.C.E.C - Traditions and customs in the context of European community<br />

The project’s title is “TRA.C.E.C“: Traditions and customs in the context of European community<br />

The problems of encounter among cultures and of lifelong <strong>learning</strong> in the “knowledge’s society” require answers and<br />

proposals suitable for assuring an effective confrontation that makes reliance on methodologies of teaching/<strong>learning</strong><br />

able to stimulate creativity’s forms. It is manifest the osmotic relation that comes to create in a situation of integration<br />

and social inclusion begins by the “other’s” knowledge with reference to personal experienced and to historic roots of<br />

different ethnologies. The roots’ knowledge gets married with the research about the culture and popular traditions of<br />

different countries. “The rediscovery of narrating as method of investigation about historic springs, the memory’s<br />

recovery, the awareness that every story is particular story” (B. Croce) serve to understand the position of a particular<br />

people compared with own experienced in a fixed historic moment. To be European citizens can mean to look at the<br />

right, at the micro history, at the local history, with the availability to the focus of fundamental problems with a net of<br />

relations for significant developments, in view of recovery and exchange. Researching, narrating, building together,<br />

but also, rebuilding, revaluing, recovering the heritage of popular and local culture: this is the aim of our proposal.<br />

The challenge is in the present that looks at the past and the future in a “pro-positive” way.<br />

We hope in promoting in the adult the reinforcement of identity’s process, so as to widen own narrows in a dimension<br />

not only at local level but of European ranging-work.<br />
