The Nature of Learning – Taking Learning Outdoors
The project is concerned with the Scandinavian concept of ‘Green Schools’, sometimes known as ‘Nature Nurseries’
or ‘Forest Schools’. It is essentially a project to investigate, inform and share good practice in the setting up and
running of Green Schools. The project focuses on developing the use of the outdoors as a learning environment, and
will enable adults, whether employed, parents or volunteers, who are working or preparing to work within these
settings with both children and young people, to share ideas across a range of European partners and educate
themselves towards notions of best practice.
