Questionnaire for Young Farmers
Purpose of the study: farmers are ageing around the word and agrarian rural
areas are changing rapidly in the current era. In this context farming is changing
in different ways and we don’t really know how the agrarian sector will evolve in
the future. This new rural context is also accompanied with new agrarian and
rural policies. The main aim of the research is to know how the new generation
of young farmers will perform in the next few years. This project is running as a
comparative exploration between Southern Ontario (Canada) and Girona (Spain).

a) Which studies have you take related with farming?
b) Which county is your farm located in?
c) What commodities do you produce on your farm?
d) How many acres does your farm have?
e) Do you own the farm and the land?
f) Are you a full time farmer?
1. Do you perceive rural areas are changing? How has your village change in
the last few years?
2. Are policies linked to the necessities of young farmers? Do you have any
idea to improve them?
3. Do you think your attitude as a young farmer is different from your
parents? Why?
4. Which barriers do you think are stronger to enter into the agrarian sector?
Did you find strong barriers to entry?
5. What do you think are the stronger opportunities for young farmers in the
future?
6. How do you visualize the future of agrarian sector and rural areas?
