discussions with <strong>Makivik</strong> and concerned<br />
landholding corporations to and is now<br />
looking forward to evaluate the feasibility<br />

New Millennium- Tata Steel Minerals<br />
Canada / DSO– Taconite Projects<br />
Another indication of the current iron<br />
price negative effect is the restructuring<br />
phase of the New Millennium – Tata Steel<br />
Minerals operations. The companies’ financial<br />
results registered capital net loss last<br />
September, resulting in a 30% workforce<br />
reduction cost and saving measures undertaken<br />
in <strong>2014</strong>. The restructuring decision<br />
aims to downsize the organization to further<br />
reduce the expense profile of the active projects.<br />
However, the Taconite project achieved its feasibility study for<br />
eventual mining operations on the Taconite project that includes<br />
the Lab-Mag and Ké-Mag deposits.<br />
Quest Rare Minerals / Strange Lake Rare Earth Project<br />
According to the latest Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA),<br />
the project has improved the outlook for its Strange Lake rare earth<br />
elements project by cutting the construction estimated costs roughly<br />

Tata Steel Minerals confirme les effets<br />
négatifs du faible prix du fer. Cette entreprise<br />
a enregistré une perte en capital nette en<br />
septembre dernier qui l’a obligée à réduire<br />
le coût de ses effectifs de 30 % en <strong>2014</strong>. La<br />
taille de l’entreprise devrait à nouveau être<br />
réduite compte tenu du ralentissement des<br />
projets en cours. Les études de faisabilité du<br />
projet de taconite se sont néanmoins poursuivies<br />
en vue d’une éventuelle exploitation<br />
des gisements LabMag et KéMag.<br />
Projet de Quest Rare Minerals au lac<br />
Strange<br />
Selon les données de la plus récente évaluation<br />
économique préliminaire (EEP), les<br />
perspectives de ce projet de terres rares au<br />
lac Strange sont plus encourageantes à la suite de la réduction des<br />
coûts de construction d’environ 50 % par rapport aux estimations<br />
de l’étude de préfaisabilité de l’an dernier. Le projet du lac Strange<br />
devrait générer des revenus de 758 M$ annuellement pour une<br />
durée de vie prévue de 30 ans. La société souhaite également mettre<br />
en place des partenariats d’investissement stratégique.<br />
