From 1983 to 1987, I was working at this big short wave transmission site
Balad, (16 x 500 kW + 95 antennas & 4 dummy loads). Today, seeing the
pictures, only left the bombed transmitters and power house buildings. All
the towers and rotating SW antenna have been removed or stolen.
All impedance transformers on both sides of long straight building that
was housing the 1500 switches are gone, the feeders also. The houses on
the base camp are gone too, only left the what was unable to be removed
... the swimming pool! Nothing left. Heart broken.

INDONESIA I listened to Radio Republik INS-Manokwari (presumed) on 3987
kHz from 1016 to 1124 UTC on Sept 7. Mainly songs and talk in INSn. SINPO
43333~42332. QRM: Morse on same frequency. Not confirmed.

conversations, pop/rock songs, ToH ID & choral Anthem, into Islamic
program, fair-good. Is questionable if KGRE's Wed. & Sun. programs (1000-
1020 UT) will be heard during Ramadan, as they have often been preempted
in the past. VoINS 9525 still off the air.

And 11860 is also on air as heard currently (Oct. 17) with good signal at
1325. Something in DRM opened at 1330 totally blocking 11855 - 11875 kHz
range.
9680 at this same time has a loud and slightly distorted (overmodulated?)
CNR.
At re-check 1355 the digital racket had disappeared. A SWL known to have
DRM receiving capability told me he could hear the noise but could not
resolve a signal, so it remains a "mystery" - was it DRM or some other
mode? It's not on the DRM page either.
