ALGERIA [to WeSahara]. 6215, Natl Radio of the SADR, confirmed here
today from 1700 on new 6215. Appears to be ex-7425, which is silent. Weak
at first, but had increased to good signal by 1900 when I was able to
confirm a weak // on MW 1550.
(Tnx to tip from Stig Hartvig Nielsen/Bjarke Vestesen Dansk DX Lytter Klub
via dxld) (Dave Kenny-UK, BrDXC-UK Dec 10)
6215 / 1550 Further to my today's previous mssg., it really looks like
Polisario Front's new fq of 6215, ex-7425, is performing... poorly after
all - it's still too high for such a short distance between my place &
Tindouf, i.e. if the tx is actually there. Best reception via the 6x12x6 m
Ewe beamed 145deg/CeAfr.
(Carlos Goncalves-POR, dxld Dec 10)
Also audible here right now, at 2300 starting program in Spanish with ID
as "Radio Nacional de la ..." (not copied, but I think there's sufficient
evidence that it's indeed them). Good audio quality, signal a bit weak for
indoor reception.
I have also their carrier on 1550, but it's not possible to make out
the modulation in the sidebands of the 1548 stations here.
AUSTRALIA Two 40 ft shipping containers are sitting on the docks at the
Port of Darwin, one day's journey away from Kununurra. They contain HCJB's
new curtain antenna and towers. But they almost didn't make it to
Australia. Dave Pasechnik, from HCJB's regional office in Singapore,
intended to travel from the USA to Croatia, to supervise the loading of
the antenna into the shipping containers. However, a few days before
leaving. Dave fell ill. He just had time to contact a colleague at HCJB's
Euro-Asia office and ask him to go to Croatia in his place, before being
taken to hospital. Erection of the towers and antenna are not planned
until late 2007.
