6010 kHz. 54444 at 0112 UT Talk by usual male and female announcers. ID
sequence at 0126. A program with a lot of Cuban mx after 0130. Off at
0200.
7110 kHz. 22332 0200 s/ on. 0235+ RR was getting swamped by the Cuban
bubble jammer. A man speaking, but not able to make out what he was
saying. Almost the opposite of what happened earlier on 6010 kHz.
Observations about 7160 kHz:
7160 kHz was not // to either 6010 kHz or 7110 kHz during their respective
times. 7160 kHz. was not delayed by a short time (e.g. 10 mins or less).
It did not seem to be offset by an hour or so either, although I could not
tell if there was a 2 hour block offset. The quality of the signal on 7160
kHz. was not as good as 6010 kHz., but better than 7110 kHz.
Radio Republica: See

They dropped the "Revolucionario" in 2002. I recalled reading this when I
first located their URL's a few weeks ago.
I checked out the web stream from RR via
and it turns out to be WRMI with its big
hum on mp3. Until 2000 UT Jan 4 there was a show about John Lennon
including his Xmas song; after WRMI ID, some more recent talk show, which
also mentioned the other three freqs 6135, 5965 and 7110, but without
specific times. Can it be in the RR studio they don't even know 5965
changed to 6010 quite a while ago? Or there is no advantage to mentioning
the real freq and thus expediting dentrocuban jamming QSY? I wonder what
is on this link after 2200 weekdays when RR is not on WRMI. Answer: WRMI
English programming.
Cuba still jamming Cuba and not Republica, UT Jan 5 at 0010 check on 5965.
CUBA 11670/11875/13680/13750/17750 kHz, "Alo Presidente" (via Radio
Habana Cuba); 1705-1722 UT, 8 January. The usual Sunday-only patched
Venezuelan political talk, though not by Hugo in this listening period.
All channels near local level except for 17750 kHz, which was fair. No
other channels located.
DIEGO GARCIA 4319(USB) AFRTS/AFN, Jan 8, starting to fade-in about 0055
and fading-out fast about 0110 UT. Now about six mins separate DG sunrise
from my sunset, for Grayline reception. Spot for "One Minute of American
History," ToH "Westwood One" NFL pre-game coverage of the Patriots/Jaguars
game. 0108 start of the game. Weak and the reception was not as good as in
Dec. but still clearly here. I checked the programming with // 10320
(Hawaii). Could not hear DG on Jan 7, so conditions seem to vary a lot
from day to day.
(Ron Howard-CA-USA, DXplorer Jan 8)
No problems with 4319U noted here in the White Mountains. In fact I just
finished typing a report which I am mailing direct to Diego Garcia. Logged
it Jan.9, 2044-2105, with the "Ed Schultz Show", various PSAs and an
AFRTS/DOD broadcasting regulations promo. AP Radio nx and Sporting Nx
flash at 2100. Poor on the NEB but better than any of my previous
loggings. If that makes any sense!
BTW, for us DXer "babes in the woods", would I be correct in assuming that
Diego Garcia counts as "British Indian Ocean Territory" on the NASWA
