Frequency 6230 is a suitably clear freq and TWR do not appear to be making
any use of it in A-06 from any other site between 1800 and 1900 UTC. It
remains to be seen just how well it propagates - particularly into the UK
- especially if S-01 antenna (OND) is utilised.
(Noel R. Green-UK, wwdxc BC-DX Mar 21)
A06ALR corrected already.
Anyhow I just asked the Chinese engineer at Shijak site to test 6230 kHz
Tx.2 Antenna A-01 Omnidirectional, and am waiting in the office for
results ...
Wolfy, which one is better 7465 kHz or 6230 KHz 1801-1830 UTC, Radio
Tirana German program?
If I get a quick reply from you I can choose what you propose, before
downloading attached A06ALR-22March at HFCC A06 file.
(Drita Cico-ALB, Mar 22)
Hello dear Drita,
from March 26, to Sept 23: 7465 kHz
but Sept 24 to Oct/Nov: 6230 kHz is the better choice.
(wb, Mar 23)
And re 11925 - I knew about the Brazilian on frequency, but do they use
English? I could hear it again this morning peaking out of the co-ch and
it did sound to be // CRI 11785 - but I'm still not 100% sure about it.
Re: 11925 English UNID.
11925 kHz oooooooooh YES, the usual Cerrik Albania 150 kW SPURIOUS signal,
which noted also last summer season on 11705 (Chinese) and 11925
(English).
Mixture of both outlets via Cerrik:
0700-0857 Chinese 11855 / 310 deg to WeEu
0700-0857 English 11785 / 310 deg to WeEu. plus/minus 70 kHz
ALGERIA 1422 RTA (sev. ch's), Ouled Fayet, is being talked about these
days possibly because of a major power increase; their signal here in SW
Europe is about the same as ever, viz. about the same as the other
dominant stn on the ch, DLF Heusweiler, to a point that both alternate
with approx. the same signal level evenings; some days, ALG dominate for
more time, others it's D that puts the best signal during most of the
time. Of course, this has to do with distance and fq, not merely power.
Yesterday, 19 Mar, RTA 1422 & 252 kHz were only noted parallel, say,
around 2145 UT, but not so at 1915 UT.
(Carlos Goncalves-POR, wwdxc BC-DX Mar 20)
BENIN 5025 ORTB R Parakou at 1935 UT with nx in French (3 Feb).
Reception was very nice: SIO 343. Good propagation to Africa this Friday
evening. Also noted possibly Madagascar on 5010 kHz still past 1930 UT.
WRTH tells their closing time is 1900 UT, except Sat/Sun at 2100 UT.
