Today 18/2/06, around 1300 UTC checking the situation of Saut Alamal and here's what I found: 17675 kHz is having Saut Alamal in the clear with no jamming today. the programs are the same as I heard them on 10/2/06 the same program of a woman talking about the situation in Libya and the battle of freedom against the regime. 17670 the afro pop station is on as usual with no ID but suddenly around 1319 UTC they went off the air!! so I managed to get an underneath arabic station broadcasting a program about the treasures of our home.....the lady introducing the program sounds the same lady giving the ID of Idhaat al Jamaheriya al o'zma on the non stop Arabic mx 17660 kHz waiting for an ID to make my conclution clear. 1325 a program about the women's health talking about that time of the month for women!!! I didn't manage to get an ID as I had to go out :( 17660 kHz is having Idhaat al jamaheriya al O'zma with the non stop Arabic songs. Around 1415 UTC I noticed that the afro pop station moved to 17680 kHz ! 17630 R AFNO not heard at 0700 UT, only R Oman with S=4 level loud and clear. R AFNO in French many phone-in calls 1100-1216 UT, lost at about 1217 UT. Accompanied whistle tone on 17632.39 kHz, 1100-1200 UT. co- channel DW Nauen 500 kW at 80 degr which ID signal started at 1157 UT. Gabon tx maybe moved to 17680 today, heard with WestAfri-Cuban mx started around 1225 UT. 17660 Libyan tx signed on at 11.40:50 til 11.44 UT, buzz 60 Hz tone audio. Opening procedure with pips like 1000 Hertz CIS procedure, starts around 11.55-11.59:39 UT. Arabic, sign-on hymn program at 1202 UT, as usual. [usual Idhaat al Jamaheriya al Ozma with non stop Arabic/Libyan Music] 17670 Noted a poor signal with French lang progr fragments. Started at 12.03:07 UT til about 1209 UT, tx switched on and out over an over again. French n o t in // to AFNO 17630. Maybe AWR French from their AWR satellite distribution feed? Seemingly Madagascar technician switched the tx on and off, due of scheduled AWR which due start at 1259 UT in Vietnamese. 17680 at 1146 UT tx signed on, buzzy tone quality. Strongest txion of all txs in 17660 to 17680 range. Most likely Libyan station from Benghazi / Sabrata / Sabhah. From 11.49:14 continued 800-1000 Hz tone til 11.50:05 UT. From 11.53:50 many short klaxon horn tones of 1 second duration each, 200? Hertz, til 11.54:45 UT. 11.56:20 UT tx off. At 1200 UT three txions on 17680 kHz, poor Sawt al Amel ??, strong Libyan station again, and from 12.01:10 UT bubble oscillation jamming type txion also. (wb, wwdxc BC-DX Feb 20) It's a bit new move here to avoid the jamming and that Afro pop station, starting the second hour of the txion starting 1300 UT I noticed that they moved to 17675 kHz to avoid the jamming mainly. The audio quality is much better than the first hour S 4 this time ... and of course still no jammer or anyother QRM. (Tarek Zeidan-EGY SU1TZ, dxld Feb 19) Checking Saut Al Amal today Feb 20 around 1201 UT, I noticed that they moved to 17680 kHz sign on with mx, followed by Qur'an recitation , then a different program content than the ones I used to hear for almost all the last week; several IDs by OM around 1225 with a lot of talking about the current situation in Libya and criticizing the Libyan regime, poem reading as well. A jammer in the background; the signal strength is a bit low today, S 2. On the same freq I could trace the Afropop station with non stop mx. but in my location Saut Alamal is beating it. 17660 kHz still having as usual Idhaat al Jamaheriya al Ozma with non stop Arabic/Libyan Music. [Later:] Saut AlAmal moves to 17675 kHz at 1300 UT!
