CANADA/[SWEDEN non] RADIO SWEDEN DRM TESTS FROM SACKVILLE SUSPENDED.<br />

The transatlantic DRM project from Sackville, Canada with Radio Sweden<br />

programmes on 17880 kHz is off the air for technical reasons. A new DRM<br />

exciter has been installed in Sackville and it needs some testing and<br />

adjustments. It has not yet been decided when the txions will be resumed.<br />

COLOMBIA Galcom International sent 8000 green, dual fixed frequency<br />

shortwave radios to South America as part of the Colombia For Christ<br />

project last year. So far in 2006 1000 radios have been shipped and<br />

another 4000 are in production. Many people are aware of the danger that<br />

missionaries in Colombia face on a daily basis. In November, a story<br />

really brought it to life. Four missionaries on a peace mission to<br />

distribute Bibles and radios in a 70 foot boat on the Guavaire river were<br />

taken hostage by guerillas and their boat was seized. They were held for<br />

49 days in an area where one of the worst battles in the history of<br />

Colombia`s internal conflict was taking place.<br />
