MONGOLIA Mongolian Radio 1st programme seems to carry Voice of Russia in
Mongolian at 1230 UT, heard on 163.995 kHz today thanks to Victor
Rutkovsky's tip. I am not absolutely sure, but the programme before 1230
may have been in Russian.
NEW ZEALAND R. NZi webpage was indicating a reduced HF schedule early
evening today, just as in the latest DXLD, i.e. 9885, 13840 and 9870 were
not in use, but now at 2210, the whole schedule's back again and no
further nx of similar cuts are visible either. Let's hope it remains as it
is, even if some fqs are currently of no use for us here, at least here in
SWEur that is. I was checking them the other day on 13840 and all I could
hear (via L or USB) was Brother Stair despite the QRM from what I believe
is some digital (?)signal (DRM b/cast?).
PAKISTAN [tentat., UNID] 13100 noted a strong very DISTORTED
subcontinental programm this morning Feb 15th around 0600-0700 UT. Audio
similar distorted like R PAK 15100 kHz but program different in
URDU/Bangla lang ?? Please help to solve the puzzle. Noted on three
different rxs.
When checked again around 0658 UT, UNID had dissapeared. So, I guess the
Islamabad technician held an on-air test maintenance action that day.
PORTUGAL [and non] 17680, Noted Radio Diff Portugal and Voz Cristiana
mixing it up, both with good signals here in Clewiston, Florida. Radio
Diff Portugal presenting mellow vocal Portuguese Jazz while Cristina
playing Spanish Rap mx. What a mixture! Cristiana gives ID followed by
promos at 1959 UT.
Yes, 17680 was a new freq from Dec 1 for RDPI, as in 5-218 from Observer,
Bulgaria:
Mon-Fri 1700-2000 Af/SoAm 17680 21655
Sat-Sun 1700-2100 Af 17680
So it must have been colliding with VC for over two months, but first time
reported here; I rarely tune around 16mb myself during those hours, and
might not notice it anyway with the super-signal from Santiago. It must be
awful in most of Latin America.
RDPi - Radio Portugal is using 17680 to Africa (beam STP-AGL-MOZ-AFS) for
a few years' time, not months (!), just like R. NZi is using the adjacent
17675 too. Acc. to the RDP, it seems no QRM de CHL is experienced in their
target areas. Voz Crita (not "crista" !) / Voz Cristiana peaking S9 at
1509 on 13 Feb w/ their Castilian prgr.
A similar situation stemming from stns relying too much on theory occurs
w/ 9460 kHz 300 kW 45deg Eur 2000-2400 (daily, but meant for special/extra
b/casts only, like y/day, 12 Feb): R. Slovakia Intl. 150 kW uses it for at
least a certain time during that 4 hr period, and it's been reported the
RDPi just murders reception of it in NE Spain. Here in Lisboa, SVK is
often better heard than the RDP tx, some 45 km eastwards, but that's
normal, like it's normal that their signals are heard a lot poorer when
obs'ed at my SW coast place.
The RDP, which stands for Radiodifusao Portuguesa (not "Diffusion" !), is
