listening to the analogue signals brought up hiss with traces of speech
underneath, so BBC 5 Live reception on this frequency at M”nchengladbach
is no longer possible. Quite remarkable for a location just 20 km away
from the German-Dutch border.

DRM RAI testing on 693 kHz.
693 kHz At 1830 UT RAI Milano in DRM mode, and VoRUS Oranienburg
Zehlendorf Germany on equal level in southern Germany. Fine Russian folk
songs could be noted though.
Hoert man denn von RAI etwas in Germanien? Ich habe hier einen satten MIX
mit Zehlendorf, wobei VoRUS dominiert, zumindest 1800-1900 UT. Spanien und
England werden auch noch einfallen, da fragt man sich, welches Signal in
Europa noch decodiert werden soll.
Tests in-band im Mix mit AM sind Schwachsinn.

Hier, 50 km noerdlich von Dresden, ertoent auf 693 kHz gerade Zehlendorf
mit dem Sodrushestwo-Programm (// z.B. 1431 kHz) und darunter DRM-
Rauschen, das auch einfach nur vom Zehlendorfer Sender selbst kommen
koennte.
Sollen das tatsaechlich 100 kW sein? Immerhin muesste das Rauschen dann so
laut bruellen wie ein AM-Sender mit 500 kW.
War gerade neugierig auf eine Diskussion, wie die beiden DRM-Signale auf
693 kHz sich nun miteinander vertragen. Auf

Ich sehe gerade, dass es 100 kW AM-Traegerleistung waren, die in Siziano
auf 693 kHz bis zur Abschaltung am 15.05.2004 gefahren wurden. Mehr ist
m.W. auch nicht koordiniert, womit das DRM-Signal mit 7 db weniger zu
fahren ist. So duerfte es auch geschehen, ansonsten waere hier wohl auf
dieser Frequenz nichts anderes als pschschschschsch mehr zu hoeren.

JAPAN A broadcast consortium in JPN has announced plans to put up the
world's tallest television broadcast tower.
The project team includes the NHK network and five major Tokyo commercial
broadcasters who plan to build a 1,968 foot [645m wb.] high tower in the
Sumida-Taito area of Tokyo for transmitting digital television.
The edifice has been dubbed the second Tokyo Tower. If constructed as
planned it will become the world's tallest telecommunications tower,
surpassing the C-N Tower in Toronto, which it lists its overall height at
1,814.3 feet.
