People in Somali.
This is to notify all Somali speaking people that a new Somali radio
station will be opened. The new radio station, called Voice of the Somali
People, will start broadcasting on 1 February 2006.
Voice of the Somali People will broadcast twice a week - Wednesdays at 1
pm east African time [1000 GMT] and Saturdays at 8:30 pm east African time
[1730 UT]. Voice of the Somali People can be heard on 8037 kHz, 41 meter
band short wave and 7175 kHz.

11890 R. Okapi at 1647 UT. Presumed this one with local song, then talk
(perhaps interview) by woman and man in what seemed French. Theme at 1657,
probable closing annt, theme back up; silence at 1658 and pulled the
switch at 1700. Very poor signal; hard to believe they could possibly be
running anything close to 500 (PWBR) or 250 kW (WRTH). Wonder why WRTH
lists this in the Clandestine section.

I thought so too when I heard this at 1900 on Jan. 15, but kept listening
and got a "Trans World Radio" ID in English at 1915 followed by sign off.
Per Meyerton schedule, this is in Hausa from 1830-1900 and Kanuri from
1900-1915.

SUDAN Radio "Peace" broadcasting from Nuba Mountains was received again
in Sofia with an emission in English for about 10 mins between 0300 and
0310 on 4750 kHz. According to their annt, the emissions are aired at
"floating times" between 0230 and 0330 and 1600 and 1800 UT with two
different programs on 4750 and 5895 kHz with tx power of 1 and 5 kilowatts
