immediately above and below) is often over-kill. Put the effort into
finding just one good freq and stick to it.
Kim Andrew Elliott PDF file detailing the exact changes that were made to
the VOA schedule as a result of the announced cuts is at

(RNW MN NL)
These cuts aren't nearly as bad as had been suggested. Going through the
database I maintain for the program guide on , I see that
of all those nasty black lines showing English program hours cut, all but
one hour, 1100-1200, had already been cut. I'm not sure what the baseline
for Kim's file is, but it's not January 31. Most of these cuts had already
occurred by the beginning of the season.
The fewest number of freqs the VOA is on the air with at any given time is
three. They should still be audible, although not with a Radio Moscow-like
presence. And that's probably okay.(Ralph Brandi-USA, DXplorer Feb 3)
VoA is not so dead indeed. However, most txions have lost one, or
sometimes two freqs, but none have been entirely deleted. Least affected
are African sces with no losses at all (except for Portuguese), as well as
Kurdish and Korean. Almost all IBB relay sites are involved.
Compared to the previous B05 schedule, the following changes have taken
place on February 1. Based on the (uncertain) assumption that all
remaining frequencies have *not* been switched to other stations, no relay
sites have disappeared, not even Biblis. But it would be really nice to
have the old IBB technical schedule back to be sure.
ZIMBABWE 6612 at 0004-, Radio Zimbabwe on Jan 30. A presumed logging
just above threshold level, but gradually improving as my local sunset
approaches. Mostly mx. I'm unable to hear any talk as I've monitored the
past 45 mins, but I suspect I wouldn't hear anything anyway. S6 to S7 on
my 7030+, but that's mostly noise, I think. Signal is visible on the Icom
756Pro2, but the 7030+ in AMS is beating the 756 without a doubt. My
Harris RF-590 is performing almost as well, with the Collins HF-2050 a
poor third, and the NRD-535D hearing essentially nothing. Fun to rate the
various receivers! Take home message: AMS is very useful, especially on
very weak signals, if it can sync!. Nothing on so-called fundamental of
3306. Continues to improve as I type this at 00:12 with African high-life
mx.
