man and woman continuing well past ToH with no ToH break. Unable to
determine lang; QRM picked up after 1300, with 7205/7215 splatter.
This was // to 9530; a perusal of WRTH shows Voice of Vietnam Minority
Service on those 2 freqs, so I thought perhaps that's what I was hearing.
I checked all Nei Menggu freqs listed in WRTH including the ones Ron
mentioned and did not hear any of them except 7210. 9530 deteriorated
after 1300 but was still audible until 1357 when CRI on 9525 blasted them
away. Apparently 9530 is a new freq for NMPBS.
The het on 7270.15 appeared in early August, around the same time that
NMPBS disappeared from 4000 kHz. 4000 had been very regular here in
Colorado, so they have apparently re-arranged their bcst schedule. 7270,
7210, and 9750 are all listed in WRTH with 0800/0830 s/off times.
CONGO DEM. REP. 5066.34 R. Candip, Bunia, 1620-1625, local songs,
vernacular anmts, poor and very weak on 18 Aug.
6209.65, R. Kahuzi, 1550 (fade-in)-1605*, French talks, sign off with
instrumental C&W mx. Completely in the clear but poor/weak on 20 Aug (Su).
Not heard on Th/Fr/Sa, so either normally signs off before the 1550 fade-
in, or just a Sunday operation?
CUBA CRI changes in B06 season via the new RHC SW site at Quivican
22 49 39 N, 82 17 34 W:
15120 kHz to be replaced by 9475 kHz 0000-0100, 250 kW 160 degr to zones
5025 R. Rebelde, Bauta, is not an easy catch this early, chiefly when co-
ch BEN is still vy. strong, but was perceived at 2132-..., 28 Aug,
Spanish, songs, talks; 12341, QRM de BEN, vy. strong.
9506.4 R. Rebelde (tent), Bauta, 1212-..., 30 Aug, Spanish, talks; 15331;
fade out before 1300. If not CUB, then what?
(Carlos Goncalves-POR, wwdxc BC-DX Aug 31)
Radio Havana Cuba. I noticed something interesting today while listening
to the 2100 UT English and 2130 UT French programs of Radio Havana Cuba on
11760 kHz.
In between the English and French programs, while there was a 30 second
moment of silence I could hear a Spanish number station, woman giving
numbers in Spanish.
Wonder if it is some mixing product at the Havana tx site.
Anyone else noticed this ?
(Gilles Letourneau-CAN?, dxld Aug 31)
Gilles, seemingly just a feeder line error, or a fault of the tx staff at
new Cuban tx site Quivican.
22 49 39 N 82 17 34 W - high resolution) has curtain arrays.
(wb, wwdxc BC-DX July 11, 2006)
Regarding Cuba, the Bauta SW site appears to have had all its curtains
removed. So nothing originates from Bauta now, not even 5025 kHz?
The new RHC SW site at Quivican has curtain arrays somewhat unusual in
that the masts are of a design that I presume was designed to withstand
