Radio Marabu 1200-1700 UT 12 March Radio City 0900-1000 UT Radio 73 1300-1400 UT (Tom Taylor-?, hcdx Mar 10) LIBYA [and non] Re: UNIDs Hi, after a long inactivity period I listened in to try the new Voice of Hope station to Libya. NOTHING 1130-1200 between 17660-17700 kHz. But I found an extremely weak signal in pres. Arabic (that weak, hi) at ard 1237, poss. sign on 1230 as not noted earlier. Huge jammer 17680 at that time. Came back to receiver 1405 and found 17660 and 17680 gone, but *strong*Afro-pop station on 17675 kHz non-stop till off-1532* mid-song. Any idea what that is? I see from older reports that it was heard but whats? While busy with 17675 just shortly noticed rather weak 15500 signal, hrd 1435 but not 1450, s/off 1445? Cheated me a bit as I planned to listen to the freq around the hour. I haven't seen any reports for a stn on this freq lately. Will try tomorrow, but thought maybe you would be interested in trying as well? The other Libyan Opposition Radio and their jammers see under since mid January. There are endless text portions in past 30 days. There are few different signals on this 17660 ... 17690 range: - Saut Alamal - the Libyan opposition from [tentat.] Grigoriopol-Moldova site. TDP - Ludo Maes from Belgium brokered. Varying in frequency. - 17660 fixed. Idhaat al jamaheriya al O'zma from Tripolis, non-stop Arabic songs and Holy Quran in between. - varying, Sawt al Afrikiya, another Libyan Arabic station. - varying, two Libyan BUBBLE oscillating jammers. [Libyan stations Benghazi, Sabhah, and Sabrata used]. - varying, an UNID Afro-Cuban mx station, same strength as Africa No. One. And also Gabon assumed for this mx stn. Gabon stopps at approx.1200 UT on 17630, then Afro-Cuban stn starts around 1210 ... 1230 UT, and last til 1522 ... 1532 UT sign off. But another tx at Moyabi Gabon starts again on 17630 kHz at 1500 UT. - 17670 fixed, 1300-1400 daily AWR Madagascar in Vietnamese.
