ALBANIA/NETHERLANDS 1395. No need to worry.
I can confirm that Big L via the Netherlands Trintelhaven (no doubt 120 kW
judging from the very potent signal) is silent during TWR txions from
Tirana on 1395 kHz. So no need to worry, after all, these Brits are
gentlemen who don't suppress Radio Tirana...
Just as Tirana switches off, Big L comes in with repeated calls "London
Calling" and chimes. Very impressive! And after listening I can say they
seem to like ABBA.
(Ullmar Qvick-SWE, wwdxc BC-DX Sept 23)
When Big L signed off at 1800 UT, Albania signed on with a measured freq
of 1394.821 kHz! 10 mins later it was 1394.820 kHz
(Tony Hudson, UK? Sept 22, MWC via dxld Sept 24)
ALGERIA [AOE/We.Sahara/Cland] I was right, the schedule of the
Castilian prgr of the Algerian-backed Polisario Front's operation called
R. Nacional de la RASD changed from 1700-1800 to 2300-0000. At 2300,
reception on 7425 kHz was mediocre~fair while vy.good on // 1550 kHz as
usual. By the way, they keep announcing "1550 kHz and 74.70 MHz."
This morning's b/cast started some time (don't know exactly how much)
after 0600, and 1550 kHz was their sole audible outlet: 45544 at 0645. I
roughly scanned the 41 m band, but found nothing, and mind you their
morning signal is also vy. strong up here, so it would be easily detected.
198 RTA-1, Ouargla, obs'ed 0955-..., 24 Sep, Arabic, light mx & songs,
advertisements, nx 1000, etc.; 34343, but vy.poor by 1505 when already
underneath the BBC Droitwich. This is a tough RTA channel here as the BBC,
