I'm glad you managed to hear RRI Jakarta on 11860 kHz. As I said, it puts
in a really good signal to W.A. It is quite amazing how a single shortwave
transmitter can cover a wide area.
And what did happen to the shut-down Santa Palomba mediumwave station (846
kHz), does it still exist or has it been demolished in the meantime?
It's still there, they switch on transmitters (Thompson - 2 x 300 kWw, 2 x
600 kW) one time a month or so on dummy load. I think they'll make some
low power DRM tests in the next future ... but Santa Palomba's "future" is
still uncertain
KOREA D.P.R. I also tried to find the new frequencies of Voice of Korea
as they seem to change every first monday of November and confirm the freq
published by A. Piontek this week. I think frequencies are the same as
last winter season. Moreover I heard them on 9650 in Japanese around 0800
UTC.
On 10 Nov I heard for the first time this week Arabic/English at 1500 and
1600 UTC on 9990 (under Egypt) and 11545 (when Lincoln number station is
silent), until it faded out some minutes after 1600 UT.
Also I traced Voice of Korea in French on 7100 between 1800 and 1900 UT.
At the end of the programme they announced all frequencies for the French
language service. But as the reception was rather difficult, I could not
follow all announcements. It seem there is no change as to B05 season.
Best reception is on 6285 in Korean/Russian/German from 1300 to 2100 UTC.
Conditions are much worse than in summer season, when it was on some days
possible for me to receive all eight foreign language frequencies in the
evening.
On the frequency of 6398.8 kHz I found Korean opera music and speeches
>from around 1500 until 1900 UTC (sign-off). This should be Pyoenyang
station in Korean. // 6250 at 1630 much weaker and disturbed by strange
sound.
(Udo Krueger-D, wwdxc BC-DX Nov 11)
VOK B-06 schedule, will find some strange frequencies under seven entries,
71 or 151. This is because they ended in 00, and I had done a search-and-
