Currently, many FM radio stations broadcast in towns and cities in west<br />

and central Africa. However, more than 60 per cent of the population lives<br />

in rural areas where FM signals cannot reach. The majority of these people<br />

groups are Muslim and either nomadic or semi- nomadic, making it difficult<br />

to reach them on a regular basis. Programmes will be provided through<br />

TWR's studios in Cote d'Ivoire and through several of TWR's Partner<br />

notes that our 1400-1500 UTC English txion is now available in Europe via<br />

DRM on 15735 kHz. This is the new DRM sce operated by WRN via a tx at<br />

Kostinbrod, Bulgaria. The registered freqs for this sce are:<br />

a.. 0600-0800 UTC 11545 kHz<br />

b.. 0800-1600 UTC 15735 kHz<br />

c.. 1600-1800 UTC 11535 kHz<br />

d.. 1800-0600 UTC 5760 kHz<br />

Jeff Cohen of WRN told Glenn Hauser in <strong>DX</strong> Listening Digest that the sce<br />

will initially carry WRN English for Europe, but "within a short time will<br />

carry other content as well." Mr Cohen also noted that the sce "will not<br />

at the start run 24/7", though he didn't specify what the exact hours will<br />

be. The WRN website hasn't yet been updated to include mention of the new<br />
