While the western world is cutting budgets and cutting down on freqs and
in the process losing audiences and then claiming no one is listening to
SW, China is going ahead, improving reception, programming and
concentrating hard on doing a good job and getting desired results. While
the USSR collapsed under pseudo communism, China with a pragmatic down to
Earth policy is forging ahead, soon to be if not already the strongest
economic power in the world. I recently got an Apple Mac I-book, yes came
from the factory in China.

I have also noted their absence during the weekends, at their usual time
(1430-1500 UTC). Their web site lists freqs of 6115, 7280 and 11590, but
they no longer have an active link for their "Programe
Schedule"I have checked
some possible freqs but so far have not heard their "Focus on China"
program. Last heard in March 2005.

6060, Sichuan PBS, on Jan 13 at 1025-1102 UT, no ID at BoH, CH IDs plus
"This is the Voice of Golden Bridge" at 1045 and 1100, program of pop
songs, some in EG, fair, with assume some RAE QRM.

6060, Chengdu, Sichuan, 1345 Dec 30, most likely the nicest logging during
Xmas. Fast prgms with many "Happy New Year!" and "phone-in." Must have
increased effect, was heard with S-3 and sometimes even better. Ought to
be some sort of "city sce."

Tianjin People's Broadcasting Station.
The name is Tianjin, reporter's name is Li Wang, please correct.
According to Mr. Li Wang, a Chinese DXer in Tianjin, Tianjin People's
Broadcasting Station broadcasts 11 different programs, totally 213hours
10minutes a day, as follows:
News Radio 97.2MHz Nx and General Radio 909 kHz Economy Radio 101.4MHz
Traffic Radio 106.8MHz 567 kHz Music Radio 99.0MHz Seaside Radio 92.0MHz
(increased to 10 kW) 747 kHz (new 50 kW tx) 1098 kHz (until March) Life

China Radio International has added some more txions for South Asia in
different langs. Bengali 1500-1557 UTC on 9610 9690 kHz; Tamil 0300-0357
UTC on 13735 13600 kHz; Nepali 0130-0227 UTC on 13780 11860 kHz.

CUBA 13740 China Radio International; at 1552-1600* on 15 January;
English programming with traditional instrumental mx, female with ChiCom
address. Stong, but with the telltail partial skip-over audio. Also, a
fairly nasty TV scan-like buzz. No parallels found, at least not located
in time.
