The article (dated 27 December 2005) is about plans of the government to
buy a replacement for the aging 200 kW MW transmitter from 1990. The
initial plan was to buy a 25 kW tx to cut down expenses, but then there
were strong voices in the parliament to buy again a 200 kW tx, since a 25
kW unit would not reach all of the Faroese fishery fleet. This Faroese
parliament link gives more details and also shows the coverage for each

(oscillating) type noted at 1730-1830 UT VoA Farsi broadcast of IBB via
Juelich Germany site today. Jamming stopped suddenly 30 seconds before VoA
Farsi program ended at 1829 UT.

Sorry, bubble jamming doesn't originate from Iran. But a wandering faulty
[oscillating] tx outlet from nearby Sukhumi Georgia unit instead, which is
always noted around 9494.75 kHz. Thanks to Mauno Ritola-FIN. Sukhumi cl-
down usually also around 1829 to 1835 UT.

Ich bin mal wieder uebers Wochenende im Frankfurter Raum. Gegen 1130 UT
ist mir auf Mittelwelle und UKW aufgefallen, dass AFN drei inhaltlich
vollkommen verschiedene Programme auf 1107 und 873 sowie 98.7 MHz
ausgestrahlt hat.
