RTE, Ireland's national public sce broadcaster, will be broadcasting on SW
to Africa on Sunday 17 September with coverage of the Football All-Ireland
finals. The broadcast, at 1300-1700 UTC, will be beamed as follows:
To Eastern, Central and Southern Africa: 21720 kHz 250 kW
To West and Central Africa: 17745 kHz 250 kW
To East and Central Africa: 15115 kHz 250 KW
Details of the tx site(s) not given by RTE, but these are presumably via
txs in the UK.

At present All-Ireland finals txion on air, 1300-1700 UT. Only 17745 kHz
has a reliable signal of S=9+ level. Seems coming from Rampisham UK.
Remaining signals are both poor, S=1-2 level in s-western Germany.
Probably from ASC(21720 S=1) and Dhabbaya UAE or CYP (15115 S=2-3).
Later on 17745 suffered by US-Farda propaganda station in Farsi at 1400-
1600 UT via Biblis-GER site, equal signal level like RTE via VT.

Maybe I missed news of it somewhere but I find that Radio Telefis Eireann
is being broadcast on 17745 currently (1315 on Sept.17) and is parallel to
the RTE 252 frequency. It's Irish football and a game between Kerry v
Roscommon. The SW transmission is only low strength here - no other
frequency noted as yet.

17745, RTE, Ireland, via VT Communications(?), came on the air as
scheduled for the special Football All-Ireland finals from Co-Park (?)
*1300- 1330, Sunday Sep 17. Heard well in Denmark with RTE Sports Team
reporting the first match, a yellow card was given at 1316, another at
1322, interviews, comments, ID: "Radio One", advs, 35444, heard on //
15115 with 35333, 21720 with 25222 and on longwave 252 with 34343 and one
second ahead of SW relays. Scheduled until 1700 UTC.

17745 kHz kommt hier mit S9+10 und leichtem Fading an.
21720 kHz kommt hier mit S1-3 und starkem Rauschen an.

15115 kHz signal seems totally different in northern Germany, compared to
my own observation. (wb).
RTE Ireland relay, 17745, 1345 Sept 17, fair at best with coverage of All-
Ireland football finals, "Weekend Sports" prgm, Radio One promos, into
fast paced play-by-play anmts. Blasted by R. Farda s/ on at 1400. Nothing
hrd on listed 15115 or 21720.

RTE relay, 1550 Sept. 17. All-Ireland Footbal finals. Only 17745 audible
at 1400 tune-in w/ hets on 15115 and 21720. Both 17745 and 15115 at S8 by
1550 with 15115 slighly better quality. No audio ever heard from 21720.
Both audible freqs significantly deteriorated by 1630 UT.
