U.K. BBCWS shortwave cuts to the Americas. More BBCWS SW cuts.
Info on the BBC's website seems to differ from the A-06 Schedule in dxld.
It appears that ALL the freqs to Central and South America have been axed,
and the Caribbean beams have been slashed. There is a note on the freq
link page:
"Please note: there are no longer sces to Central and South America on
short wave."

I was expecting this. A couple of weeks ago, Radio Netherlands received a
rather brief message informing us that the BBC no longer required the 1200
UTC txion from Bonaire. No explanation was offered, and my colleage Leo
van der Woude asked me if I had seen anything to indicate that they were
making more cuts, as he wondered if they had moved the txion to another
site.
Apparently the BBC made this decision at fairly short notice. They
presumably wanted to avoid the controversy they had when they cut North
American SW sces a few years ago.

The BBC World Service frequency schedule pages no longer show any service
for South America. And the index page now bears the note:
"Please note: there are no longer services to Central and South America on
short wave."
There are still BBC WS frequencies to the Caribbean listed but even these
have been cut and carry a note:
"The chart ... reflects the reduction in Short Wave to the Caribbean."
The Caribbean frequencies listed are:
11865 (via French Guiana) 1100-1300 daily
15390 (via Fench Guiana) 2100-2200 daily
5975 (via French Guiana) 2200-2300 daily
11675 (via USA) 2100-2130 Mon-Fri
I remember reading about cuts in Portuguese to Brazil but I don't remember
seeing an announcement of cuts in English to the Americas?
Cuts will also affect options for listening to BBC WS in North America on
shortwave.
