Short wave listeners said the AM carrier, heard earlier this summer on
various 20-meter phone band freqs, would occasionally drop out at the top
of the hour for a monitoring check, then reappear five minutes later.
Skolaut says he's received reports about the mx jammer from all over the
US, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. "I have one ham reporting it
regularly from New Zealand," he said. Before August 5, Skolaut said,
reports indicated that the txion contained both talk and mx and was more
intermittent, but "now it's pretty continuous and entirely mx."
The jammer just started up at 1238 UT today Aug 18 on 14050 with music, no
annts preceded their sudden start.
Just a quick note to let you know I can hear the Chinese Music Jammer on
14050 KHz here in Montreal, Canada at 1345 UT with an excellent signal.
I'm amazed at how strong they come in here. Quick note to let you know the
Chinsese mx Jammer signed off at 1400 UT.
TURKMENISTAN 5015 at 2308 S9 + 10 signal with Turkmen Radio 1st HS
programme in Turkmen with listed 20 kW. A very powerful signal here. Many
mentions of Turkmenistan and Turkmen. I returned at 0152 on August 18th to
hear an exceptionally strong signal with repeated mentions of Asgabat.
These were ads. At 0200 4 + 1 time pips, and into news in Turkmen.
UGANDA Radio Uganda was heard weakly on 5026 kHz 17 Aug 2025-2035 with
English, some pops. A stronger signal on 4976 was Uganda (listed as Red
Channel, diff to 5026) as well, I suppose, but what a modulation.
Distortion made recognition impossible, only detected that mx was African.
Both gone at recheck 2110 UT.
UNID 4910 Zambia?, 17 Aug very weak with talk 2040, so maybe back.
Nothing beneath Israel on 5915 this day, previously noticed.
(Finn Krone-DEN, wwdxc BC-DX Aug 19)
5035 on 17 Aug at 2105 YM talking but absolutely only noticable, could be
anything. But think not Brazil - no other Braz signals could be traced.
Centrafrique's the guess.
