1 - Introduction<br />

Nowadays it’s <strong>com</strong>mon to observe that there h<strong>as</strong> been<br />

a considerable interest in teaching theoretical and empirical<br />

techniques at colleges and university’s through out the world.<br />

We can see that video cl<strong>as</strong>ses have had the pertinent<br />

preoccupation of providing <strong>com</strong>munication – and other media<br />

students – with the proper knowledge tools and practical<br />

frameworks for all the media <strong>as</strong>pects that are related to<br />

producing contents. Regarding this issue, in cl<strong>as</strong>ses we can<br />

observe the obvious preoccupation with the p<strong>as</strong>sage of<br />

theoretical issues and “hands - on” practical experiences. In<br />

today’s cl<strong>as</strong>ses we can a see an ever-growing interest in the<br />

usage of these powerful resources to evaluate, on a first<br />

moment, and to promote the colleges and universities images<br />

through broadc<strong>as</strong>t and the web’s infinite possibilities.<br />

In a practical and very useful view today it’s observable<br />

that open-source production and diffusion tools are very<br />

important in these realities. But the initial b<strong>as</strong>is are<br />

fundamented in the pillars that were created through the<br />

ancient laws of storytelling through fixed pictures – on a first<br />

approach – and moving images on a second.<br />

Today, through the immense technological resources<br />

we can see that we’re living in the epicentre of the self-media<br />

era. Today’s media-scape h<strong>as</strong> been coined with the<br />

expressions that define the citizen reporter/producer reality.<br />

Regarding this <strong>as</strong>pect, we can see that Dan Tapscott, (Net<br />
