Mit einem hochauflösenden COLTRIM-Spektrometer (Cold Target
Recoil-Ion Momentum Spectroscopy) wurde die Mehrfachionisation von
Edelgasatomen (Ne, Ar) in intensiven, ultrakurzen Laserpulsen untersucht.
Hierzu wurde ein Überschall-Atomstrahl in einem sog. Reaktionsmikroskop
in starken Laserfeldern interpretiert.
Single ionization of atoms in ultrashort intense laser pulses —
Single ionization of atoms in very intense laser fields is usually discussed
in terms of field or tunneling ionization. There, the active electron
is assumed to be set free with almost zero kinetic energy via tunneling
before it is accelerated, gaining drift energy in the oscillating laser field.
This results in smooth and unstructured photoelectron energy distributions
[1]. Recently, deviations from the simple tunneling picture were
observed experimentally for the emission of the ultra low-energy electrons
from Ne [2]. Following these experimental findings we performed
systematic experimental studies for single ionization of He, Ne and Ar
atoms by 23 fs and 6 fs laser pulses over a wide range of intensities (up to
2 PW/cm 2 ). Using our newly designed Reaction Microscope we were able
to resolve rich and so far unexplained structures in the electron momentum
distributions at intensities well in the tunneling regime. The spectra
exhibit pulse length as well as target dependence. [1] N.B. Delone and
The interference structure of satellites in a photoelectron spectrum
produced in two-photon ionization of hydrogenlike atoms by a superpo-
31
sition of a weak infrared laser pulse and a short train of high harmonics
is calculated. Firrst-order perturbation theory is applied with respect
to either field, while the atom is treated exactly. It is shown that the
interference structure depends on the relative phases between adjacent
harmonics. This dependence, in principle, provides an opportunity to
measure the relative phases of high-order harmonics. This is necessary
for the control of temporal properties of short pulses of soft x-ray or ultraviolet
radiation. Different possibilities for an experimental realization
of the measurement of relative phases are discussed in the light of the
theoretical results obtained.
We demonstrate that the phase between the carrier and the pulse envelope
of a few-cycle laser pulse can be retrieved from non phase stable
laser systems, provided that such laser pulses are about 5 fs long and the
repetition rate is in the order of 1kHz. Our approach is based on online
determination of the phase using f − 2f interferometry. By a comparison
of the self referencing interferometric signal with the photoelectron
current emitted into a 7 degree solid angle parallel to the laser polarization
we obtain the absolute value of the carrier envelope phase provided
that Coulomb correction for electron energies below 10eV can be taken
correctly into account.
In vielen Quanten-Kontroll-Experimenten werden Sequenzen von
Femtosekunden-Laserpulsen verwendet.
Dabei
werden sowohl lineare Gruppenverzögerungs- und absolute Phasenmodulationen
als auch komplexere Modulationen wie sinusförmige und π-
Sprung-Modulationen untersucht.
