intercollegiate athletic program. Participation includes supervised
conditioning; organized practice attended by a member of the coaching staff
or a Department sponsored game, meet or match. The University does not
accept financial responsibility for injuries that occurred prior to enrolling at
UNCW. Injuries received while voluntarily playing any sport (e.g., intramural,
with friends or at home) are the financial responsibility of the individual.
j. Seahawk Club Financial Reporting
The Seahawk Club’s books and records are audited annually by an
independent certified public accounting firm, and a copy of the report is
furnished to the UNCW Chancellor and Board of Trustees. In addition to the
independent audit, The Seahawk Club’s books and records are also audited on
an annual basis by the UNCW Internal Auditor as required by applicable
NCAA rules. The Internal Auditor’s report is provided to the NCAA, the
University and is made available to the general public.
k. Opening of Bank Accounts
No school, department, or activity of the university is allowed to open a bank
account without prior written approval from the Associate Vice Chancellor for
Business Affairs-Finance.
V. ATHLETIC FACILITIES AND ATHLETIC EVENT MANAGEMENT
ATHLETICS FACILITIES
GENERAL
The Department of Athletics Facilities consists of: Boseman Field, Brooks Field, Golden
Hawk Room, UNCW Golf Facility, Hanover Hall, Harold Greene Track, UNCW
Natatorium, UNCW Soccer Complex, UNCW Tennis Complex and Trask Coliseum.
These facilities fall under the direct responsibility of the Assistant Athletic Director for
Facilities.
