STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONFIDENTIAL DATA: Information
on academic performance, drug testing results or student-athlete personal problems will
not advance outside those involved without prior notification and approval of the studentathlete.
PREFERRED ABILITIES: Preferred collegiate coaching experience, Master’s Degree,
knowledge of the NCAA rules and regulations.
ASSISTANT COACHES
JOB TITLE: Assistant Athletic Coach
JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is to assist the Head Coach in the athletic program
duties and obligations which include recruiting, team practice, home and away games,
ordering and inventory of equipment/uniforms, teaching mental and physical aspect of
the sport and any other duties assigned by the Head Coach. This individual understands
that compliance is a central element of employment and is responsible for adhering to
NCAA, CAA and institutional rules and regulations.
REPORTS TO: Head Athletic Coach.
BASIC FUNCTION: To assist the Head Coach in every aspect of the athletic program.
POLICY-MAKING AND/OR INTERPRETATION: Must pass the NCAA Coaches
Recruiting Test and must have knowledge of the NCAA rules and regulations.
PROGRAM DIRECTION AND DEVELOPMENT: Duties as assigned by the Head
Coach.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Head Coach and Sport Supervisor, as needed.
LEVEL OF PUBLIC CONTACT: High level of public contact with coaches, studentathletes,
parents, Seahawk Club members, businesses, faculty and staff of the university,
working with recruiting and sports promotions.
MONETARY RESPONSIBILITY: Team travel monies.
