PREFERRED ABILITIES: Many years experience in all areas of intercollegiate
athletics with the ability to assume responsibility and make decisions. Must possess the
demeanor and maturity to deal effectively and tactfully with administrators, business
associates, booster club members, civic club members, faculty, staff and students.
Fundraising and promotion experience needed.
DEPUTY ATHLETIC DIRECTOR/SENIOR WOMAN ADMINISTRATOR
JOB DESCRIPTION: Assists the Director of Athletics in the supervision and the
administration of the men and women’s athletic programs. Serves as a member of the
department’s management team and assists with the planning and direction of the
Department of Athletics. Supervises the department’s compliance, academic, and sports
medicine programs; coordinates with Director of Athletics in assuring conformity with
gender equity and Title IX guidelines and assisting in monitoring areas of
gender/diversity issues and student-athlete well being; coordinates the department’s
human resource responsibilities and assists in the search for and hiring of new employees.
Supervises the sports of baseball, softball, men’s golf, women’s golf, men’s tennis,
women’s tennis, men’s swimming & diving, women’s swimming & diving, and
volleyball. Serves on NCAA, CAA and institutional committees. Any additional duties
as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Understands that compliance is a central element of employment and is responsible for
adhering to NCAA, CAA and institutional rules and regulations. Assists in supervising
the scheduling of intercollegiate athletic events and assists in conducting senior exit
interviews.

REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics.
POSITIONS DIRECTLY SUPERVISED: The Assistant Athletic Director for
Compliance; Assistant Athletic Director for Academics; Director of Sports Medicine;
Administrative Assistant; Head Coaches of baseball, softball, golf, tennis, swimming&
diving, and volleyball; student workers and interns, as applicable.
BASIC FUNCTION: Assists Director of Athletics in directing and supervising the
administration of the men and women’s athletic programs and administrative personnel
and operations. Supervises the Compliance program, sports medicine program, academic
program, and respective sports. Additionally, assists Director of Athletics in Title IX,
gender/diversity issues and student-athlete well-being. Handles the department’s
