OTHER CHARACTERISTICS OF POSITION: The grounds workers must have a
close working relationship with all of the coaches of outdoor sports. They work closely
with each coach concerning the particulars of their given sport.
PREFERRED ABILITIES:
High school education preferred
Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions essential.
Ability to work well with people.
Experience in athletics and turf management.
Friendly and pleasing personality.
An appropriate level of physical fitness is necessary due to nature of work.
ATHLETIC FACILITY/UTILITY WORKERS
JOB DESCRIPTION: Oversee set-ups/break-downs for athletic events, departmental
events in Trask Coliseum and Hanover Gym. Monitor indoor facilities for necessary
work orders, and report promptly to supervisor. Perform miscellaneous duties as
requested by Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities. This individual understands that
compliance is a central element of employment and is responsible for adhering to NCAA,
CAA and institutional rules and regulations.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities.
POSITIONS DIRECTLY SUPERVISED: N/A
BASIC FUNCTION: To prepare indoor athletic facilities for intercollegiate competition
and special events. At the conclusion of competition/events, facilities have to be made
ready for normal academic and athletic use in a timely manner.
